Peek at the Week:
o Welcome to Kindergarten! This has been a very busy week
of school. We began to learn our school routines and toured
our school!
o Our students had core class to start the year! They enjoy
the music and activity during this time!
o We practiced recognizing our name this week.
o We are getting to know our new classmates. We are
making lots of new friends!
o We have been learning how to use some of our classroom
materials appropriately.
o During our morning meeting, we have started to use our
words to greet others and maintain eye contact.
Coming Up:
Language Arts: repeat a sequence of sounds in
order, recognize rhyming words, recognize
lowercase letters, identify a title and title page,
identify colors, and distinguish right from left, make
predictions and count syllables.
Math: counting and identifying sets of objects 0-5
and writing the numbers 0-5
Safety: working with bus and fire drill safety.
Foundations: working with recognizing our first
names, writing them, and putting letters together to
make our names.
Guidance: Mr. Brown will visit to discuss the
Bullying Policy and how we treat others.
Reminder:
o Students cannot be dropped off at school until 8:20am.
There is no supervision before this time.
o Dress for the weather!
Please continue to review school rules at home with your child.
Some things you can practice at home:
*identifying letter names and sounds
*identifying numbers and counting
*identifying and printing their first name using lowercase
letters (except for the first letter)
Please be sure that your child brings a folder and book bag
everyday and they are wearing their bus tags.
