www.esafetykit.net. The site is based on the printed ‘family toolkit’, which was developed in 2008 by the Insafe network and Liberty Global/UPC within the framework of the EC's Safer Internet programme. The family toolkit consists of a comprehensive parent’s guide, an activity-based guidebook designed specifically for children between 6-12 years old, stickers, a family certificate and situation cards.
The main focus of the online kit was to create a fun interactive environment for children to learn about eSafety issues. The online kit includes a suite of addictive and educational games. They were developed with the help of European Schoolnet's pedalogical experts to ensure that they are not only a joy to play but the child comes away having learnt something.
The e-Safety website will extend the reach of the printed eSafety toolkit. Over 300,000 hard copies of the toolkit have already been distributed in 11 languages and across 18 countries.
Insafe’s partnership with Liberty Global is part of the company’s Corporate Responsibility program with a key focus on ‘Protecting Minors’ and ‘Digital Inclusion’ by widening access, enhancing skills and creating opportunities. The eSafety kit online promotes ‘enhancing skills’ by helping to ensure that people are able and qualified to use digital products and services safely, securely, and effectively.

At launch, the kit was available in the following countries; Ireland (English), Spain, Belgium (French and Dutch), The Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic and Hungary. More languages are to follow soon.
Check out the site www.esafetykit.net.
