  1. Tell story about TRS: Healthcare company -- hired a guy, who hired his friends who were in college, or self-taught. Ended up spending several hundred thousand $ over the course of several years – only to have this guy leave suddenly, claim he owned all the code, and then hire us to find out the code was garbage! The AR didn’t balance; the billing was manual and error-prone; the application used 4 or 5 different sets of technologies – totally idiotic as a result of this guy’s tinkering – and he got paid for it!The scariest thing is that this guy is now out on his own with his buddies writing software for people!
  2. Tell story about Strike Construction – 5 mm/company
  3. Tell MRC story: Legal services firm let their “CIO” build a huge application upon which the business became fully reliant. It was always broken, constantly resulting in customer complaints and employee dissatisfaction. The CIO hired his friend as a programmer to manage it because there was so much work to support it! Eventually the CIO left, taking his friend with him, and claimed to own the whole application. Lawyers had to get involved, etc. Entrance has since ported this customer to a new platform based on salesforce.com, which requires minimal support – saving hundreds of thousands per year!
  4. Wrap up -
