  • I decided to do my topic on video games because I have a great passion for video games. I always been intrigued by the evolution of video games because it always seem to be changing so fast. Video games has deeply influence me, and I might want to pursue in video game design.
  • Video Games are influential in today’s society not only because they have become part of our society, but also because it is integrated into our culture.We are more tech savvy than before, which means that a person is skillful with technology. Our generation knows how to work with computers, cell phones, and game systems better than the generation before. Example (My dad couldn’t figure out how to use the internet)It’s also one of the great ways to release stress, it takes our mind off of something, and takes us somewhere else.   • 1.Video game is when a person uses a controller such as a mouse, joystick, or phone to play on a console (computer, game system, or mobile) on a visual screen such as a computer, television, or portable device.Need to havesomething to see, control, and run on a program2. There are 4 different factors that would be helpful to know are the conflicts, rules, players, and valued outcome.3. In a video game, there is always a conflict and the player must try to solve the problem.4.The rules is made by the video game designers such as putting boundaries of a map, controlling the player’s movement, and having the buttons assign.5.The players’ ability is how good the user is in their skills, strategy, or just luck to accomplish the goal.6.The valued outcome is either winning or losing in general. There’s accomplishment of getting the highest score or fastest time.

  • What skills is needed to be a game designer.A package of skills that a person or team possesses. A skill set includes anything from knowledge of a particular programming language to the ability to manage people.   • This is the steps they take in developing video games.Conceive – imagine the ideas that would make a great video game. Brainstorm your ideas and take notes. ( – Are responsible for manufacturing and packaging video games. Developers tell the investors a head of time because it takes months for them to process, so the sooner the better. (Gershenfeld 17) Create – after getting approval, the production team creates a prototype including stages/level designs. (Gershenfeld 17) Production Team- Have a group of people such as the programmers, artists, and audio designers working together. The artists draw everything electronically on a computer. The audio designers create the sound that will happen in the game. Finally, the programmers, they put everything together in the game. Cooperate - The team works together and the team does a specific job. They’re assigned specific jobs. For example, we might have a team that has 10 programmers, 4 artists, and 2 audio designers. Have one artist make the background, two other artists make the characters, and have the last one make the objects. Have one audio person product the noise and the other one record it and put it into the game. The 10 programmers work on different section of the game. After the artists are done, they give it to the programmers for them to install. ( until Right – The prototype of the game is done. They have play testers that they test the game out. They will take the blind test of the video game in separate area. After they play the video game, they have to rate the game and give reasons why. The Play testers must talk about the positive and negative of the game. If they’re getting paid to play video games, the game has to be amazing and fun. Normally, the game goes back for another revision, make sure there’s no obvious problems in the game because the game is being mass products. It goes through it until it is perfect. ( – Distribute the game out to the public, like Game Stop, E B Games, and other electronic stores. The way for people to get buyers is have commercials, billboards, and other ads up for the video game. ( typical size of today’s development teams is usually somewhere between a dozen to a few dozen people working together (Gershenfeld 15)

( Philadelphia, a 27 year old man named Tyrone Spellman was convicted of 3rd degree murder for killing his 17old month daughter over a broken Xbox. ( 2007 in Ohio, 17 year old boy name Daniel Petric killed his parents because they took away Halo 3 from him.
