ExpressRoute for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) on public peering and Microsoft peering for Azure is no longer be
supported by default. Customers may have noticed affected services’ Azure AD traffic gradually shifting from ExpressRoute to
the Internet.
If using ExpressRoute is required for your organization, please refer to the following: 1. If you use Azure public peering, you
must move to Microsoft peering and sign up for the “Other Office 365 Online services (12076:5100) community”
(https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/expressroute/expressroute-routing#bgp). 2. If you use Microsoft peering, you must sign up

Access Control
Service
N/A Full Service 11/7/2018
The Access Control Service, which authenticates and authorizes users on behalf of other applications, is being retired on
November 7, 2018. This will affect Azure customers who created an Access Control namespace and use it to secure their
applications. It may also affect customer of any service that accepts tokens that are issued by Access Control (for example,
Azure Service Bus, Azure Relay, Azure Media Services, or Azure Backup).
Customers should plan their migration from this service to another technology, such as Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) or
Azure AD B2C. Impacted customers can refer to the Access Control migration guidance:

The cross platform and improved Azure Functions runtime will be re-written to
run in .NET Core 2.1. This not only brings significant performance
improvements, but also allows Functions to be written and hosted locally on all
major platforms – Windows, Mac and Linux.

Expanded FedRAMP coverage in Azure public regions
• Microsoft expanded the scope of services in Azure covered by FedRAMP Moderate from 13 to 50 creating new
opportunities across a broad array of federal agencies.
• By the end of 2018, Azure will support FedRAMP High for these 50 services for agencies willing to host their
information in a commercial cloud. This augments the coverage for FedRAMP High applications already
offered in Azure Government, where 53 services are already supported.
Azure Government Secret regions available in Q1 2019
• We announced our intent to expand our mission-critical cloud last October and are now announcing Azure
Government Secret regions will be available by the end of the first quarter in 2019.
• These new regions will be enabled for Secret U.S. classified data or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)
Impact Level 6 workloads.
Azure Data Box family of products is now available for government customers including:
• Azure Data Box Edge public preview enables customers to pre-process data at the edge and move data to
Azure efficiently.
• Azure Data Box Heavy public preview offers customers expanded capacity and contains 1 petabyte of storage
for transporting customer data to an Azure datacenter.

We recommend that you update any code or scripts that use Batch AI following the steps outlined in the migration guide by August 31, 2018. Azure Active Directory ExpressRoute for Azure AD on public and Microsoft peering Feature 8/1/2018 ExpressRoute for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) on public peering and Microsoft peering for Azure is no longer be supported by default. Customers may have noticed affected services’ Azure AD traffic gradually shifting from ExpressRoute to the Internet. If using ExpressRoute is required for your organization, please refer to the following: 1. If you use Azure public peering, you must move to Microsoft peering and sign up for the “Other Office 365 Online services (12076:5100) community” (https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/expressroute/expressroute-routing#bgp). 2. If you use Microsoft peering, you must sign up for the “Other Office 365 Online services (12076:5100) community” (https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/expressroute/expressroute-routing#bgp). Access Control Service N/A Full Service 11/7/2018 The Access Control Service, which authenticates and authorizes users on behalf of other applications, is being retired on November 7, 2018. This will affect Azure customers who created an Access Control namespace and use it to secure their applications. It may also affect customer of any service that accepts tokens that are issued by Access Control (for example, Azure Service Bus, Azure Relay, Azure Media Services, or Azure Backup). Customers should plan their migration from this service to another technology, such as Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) or Azure AD B2C. Impacted customers can refer to the Access Control migration guidance: https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/active-directory/develop/active-directory-acs-migration. Cognitive Services Emotion API preview Feature 2/15/2019 Cognitive Services Translator Text API v2 Feature 4/30/2019 The Microsoft Translator Text API v3 is now available and the Translator Text API v2 will be discontinued on April 30, 2019.
