Expanded FedRAMP coverage in Azure public regions
• Microsoft expanded the scope of services in Azure covered by FedRAMP Moderate from 13 to 50 creating new
opportunities across a broad array of federal agencies.
• By the end of 2018, Azure will support FedRAMP High for these 50 services for agencies willing to host their
information in a commercial cloud. This augments the coverage for FedRAMP High applications already
offered in Azure Government, where 53 services are already supported.
Azure Government Secret regions available in Q1 2019
• We announced our intent to expand our mission-critical cloud last October and are now announcing Azure
Government Secret regions will be available by the end of the first quarter in 2019.
• These new regions will be enabled for Secret U.S. classified data or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)
Impact Level 6 workloads.
Azure Data Box family of products is now available for government customers including:
• Azure Data Box Edge public preview enables customers to pre-process data at the edge and move data to
Azure efficiently.
• Azure Data Box Heavy public preview offers customers expanded capacity and contains 1 petabyte of storage
