What IS a Learning Organisation?


“...organisations where people continually expand their capacity to create
results...
where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured,
where collective aspiration is set free,
and where people are continually learning to learn together...”
Peter Senge, 1990



     Core principles
•    an organisation must be adaptive to it’s external environment,

•    continually enhancing their capability to change & adapt.

•    while developing collective & individual learning capabilities, and

•    using results from learning to improve

So why aren’t we all working in learning organisations?
•    required sophisticated levels of thinking/
     learning

•    bureaucratic / hierarchical structures
     don’t support systems thinking or
     dialogue
