1. How I made sure I targeted my
audience efficiently and
affectively.

2. • To create the best possible music magazine
for my target audience which is adult teens to
young adults. I asked a small focus group of
thirty to enhance a greater understanding of
what my audience wants from me and my
magazine.

3. FIRST QUESTION.
• What do you think is the most important aspect
of a rock/punk magazine?
• I asked this question due to being able to have a
variable idea of what my target audience would
feel is the most important aspect. Knowing this
information gives me the ability to stand out the
elements they feel will be most important so
that I can have a perfect idea of what my target
audience wants. Here are the results.

4. As you can see from this
graph, my audience felt
like pictures were one of
the main aspects they
feel need to shown
affectively on my
magazine. I also did my
research online and
found out that the
picture as well as the
headline is the first
aspect that engages you
to the magazine.
Because my graph
showed the information
also I now no my
pictures will have to
look professional and
engaging to have a
great appeal to them.

5. SECOND QUESTION
• What is your favourite genre?
• I feel this is one of the most important
question to ask to my audience as if I
created the wrong genre of magazine then
my audience would not find my magazine
appealing to buy. Here are my results.

6. As you can see the highest
level of popularity were
punk and rock with punk
elements with it. As they
were much higher then the
rest of the genres, creating
a genre like mine will
obviously and factually be
the most successful
magazine as that’s what
my audience prefers.

7. QUESTION THREE
• What would attract you to buy my magazine?
• Asking this question gave me an insight of what
elements I should focus on more in order to
attract my audience. Attracting your audience
effectively is the key element to a successful
magazine. The idea that I know what they want
to see and what they find most appealing to
read gives me a great knowledge to create a
magazine which is suitable for them.

8. As you can see an advertised
poster is the main element
that my audience would like.
I feel advertising a free
poster in my magazine also
attracts all genders in
comparison to makeup or
jewellery. A poster will also
be one of the cheapest ways
to sell your magazine, which
gives me more of an idea
now on what I should be
focussing on in order for my
magazine to sell.

9. QUESTION 4
• What colours would you find engaging on
a magazine?
• I feel colour is a main aspect of a
successful magazine. If your colour is
picked randomly then you can find
yourself addressing the wrong target
audience. As colours connotes all sorts of
different ideas.

10. As you can see blue and
pink are the most
popular colours to
enhance your magazine
affectively to your
audience. As my
audience is unisex I will
be sure to add both
colours in order for it to
attract both audiences
perfectly.

11. • Researching into my target audience has
now given me the ability to start
producing my print work. I now have main
images in mind of what I feel will be
affective and also have had questions
answered through asking my target
audience what they prefer to see when a
magazine is targeted to them in particlaur.
