Le projet
La mission de cette association (OPLC) a but non
lucratif est de développer un ordinateur portable peu
cher —quot;le portable à 100$quot;— une technologie qui
pourrait révolutionner l'éducation des enfants du
monde entier. Notre but est de donner à tous les
enfants du monde de nouvelles opportunités
d'explorer, d'expérimenter, et de s'exprimer.

OLPC, One Laptop Per Child
Hardware:
– A unique machine with features created specifically for children of the
emerging world.
Software:
– We want the child to interact with XO on as deep a level as he or she
desires. Children program the machine, not the other way around.
Interface:
– XO has a user interface that graphically embraces the spirit of the network.
It is all about community and collaboration—working and playing together
to learn, create and communicate.
Design:
– This is a very distinctive machine; rugged, durable, and child-friendly,
inside and out.

Starting November 12, One Laptop Per Child will be offering a
Give 1 Get 1 Program for a brief window of time. For $399, you will
be purchasing two XO laptops—one that will be sent to empower
a child to learn in a developing nation, and one that will be sent to
your child at home. If you're interested in Give 1 Get 1, we'll be

Notre projet pilot
Projet pilot OLPC dans une classe au Canada
– 22 élèves.
Objectifs:
– Expérimenter l’introduction d’un nouveau mode d’apprentissage
technologique.
– Rattraper les retards en éducation technologique et favoriser un mode
d’apprentissage collaboratif.
– Conscientiser face à la mondialisation, au clivage économique et social et
favoriser une ouverture sur le monde en mettant en relation les enfants du
Canada avec ceux qui auront reçu l’autre portable.

10. Objectifs à court terme
Évaluer les possibilités de maillage avec une classe
dans un pays en développement.
Préparer une campagne de lever de fond afin d’acheter
1 portable par élèves (22 étudiants) soit environ 9000$.

Préparer une structure d’encadrement technique,
technologique et éducatif lié au projet.
