• Choose a url (wiki name) that is transferable. You can change your url once every 30 days using wikispaces. Traffic is directed to your old url, as well as your new one for 30 days.\n

• Horizon Report 2010 talks about “open content” The free dissemination of information - many universities have their course curriculums freely available online. \n• Benefits: Teaching / Learning becomes more transperent, students are able to access material before, during & after lessons etc, Material can be reused, adapted by other teachers etc\n• What are the implications of this for educators? \n

• Primarily used for weekly homelearning tasks - chat facility to “discuss” homelearning etc\n• Ideal for teaching “netiquette” in a controlled environment\n• I insist my students use the chat facility as if they were writing in their textbooks, proper grammar, spelling, punctuation\n

My class has used this blog primarily as a space to reflect on their learning.\n• Again another safe platform for getting students to practice (netiquette) commenting on the work of others in a positive fashion. Also a good environment to teach students how to offer constructive criticism on what they read.\n• You could also have reading and commenting on blogposts as part of your reading tumble\n• Quadblogging\n
