Formation of stars/sun
1. Thin invisible cloud of gas and dust collapsed
inward, pulled by the force of its own gravity.

2. As the clouds fell together, it began to spin and
the smaller the cloud got, the faster it spun.

3. The center of the cloud reached a temperature
of 15 million kelvins after about 30 million
years after the cloud started to collapse.

Formation of stars/sun
3. The center of the cloud reached a temperature
of 15 million kelvins after about 30 million
years after the cloud started to collapse.
4. Under these extreme conditions protons move
   rapidly, pressed closer together.
5. Through the process of fusion, the protons
combine with a release of energy.
6. The star/sun was born at that moment fusion
   ignites the stars/sun.

Balance of Inward and Outward Forces
1. The fusion reactions in the core of the stars
produce an outward force that prevents the star
   from collapsing.
2. If this outward force is not checked it would
make the star expand and eventually
   disintegrate or explode.
3. When stars use up most of its gas due to fusion,
it’s mass will decrease and its gravity will
   weaken.

Balance of Inward and Outward Forces
4. On the other hand the gravity produces an
inward force preventing the star from
   expanding and disintegrating.
5. With those two forces evenly balanced, the
   stars maintain an equilibrium.
6. Scientists estimate that the sun has enough fuel
to continue nuclear fusion for another 5 billion
   years.
