3. Objectives
• To bring together citizens and European representatives or experts
in 8 live online discussions (90 minutes each)
• To raise awareness and to inform about the European Parliament
and to show possibilities to participate
• To make the complex negotiation process in the EP more
transparent
• To show pathways how to use the (online) instruments already
provided by the EP to follow political processes and participate in
consultations
• To experiment with the innovative format of interactive video
production
4. Target Groups
• Interested citizens,
• Stakeholders in the respective fields ->
MEPs, experts, lobbyists, persons who are
(professionally) active on the local,
regional, national and international level,
representatives of NGOs and experts from
the scientific community
6. Research
• Research on Legislative Reports that will go through a
parliamentary reading during the first half of 2013. A pre-
selection of reports to be potentially dealt with will be
made according to
– relevance in the regional/national public discussions
– relevance to an audience (both – for participation in the conferences
and via online-media) that will be accessible from the side of the project
team.
8. Background material
• on the political and legislative processes
at European Level will be selected and
prepared by the project team.
9. Contacts
• After the selection of the report its rapporteur
and the shadow rapporteurs (of the primarily
responsible committee) will be contacted along
with experts, advisors, lobbyists. They will be
introduced to the project and its objectives and
will be asked to participate in the online
conferences.
10. Provide Background Information
• Relevant documents of the report(s)
selected – including official statements of
the relevant interest groups active on the
European level – will be made available
online at the community platform.
11. Online Conferences
• 8 online conferences preferably taking
place shortly prior to the debates and the
EPs decisions in the (mainly responsible)
committee and the plenary.
12. Follow-up to online conferences
• Editing of recordings of online
conferences (short video compilations)
• Uploading to YouTube
• Follow-up discussions at the online
platform
13. Results
• 8 recordings of online conferences
• 8 edited recordings
• Promotional video, recording of press
conference
• Interactive community platform with on-going
debates and background information at disposal
