2. ABOUT
DEBRECEN
• The school is located in the heart of DEBRECEN,
the second largest city in Hungary.
• Debrecen is famous for its long tradition of being
an educational and cultural centre of the
country.
• The city’s university attracts students from all
parts of Europe.
• Moreover, Debrecen is a great centre of sports
and a popular tourist destination as well.

3. OUR SCHOOL
• Last year we celebrated the 150th
anniversary of the foundation of the
school.
• The main profile of our school is
economics
• Five years ago the school started
its bilingual class programme which
seems to be quite popular.

4. Remarkable school life is just one thing
that makes our school popular.

5. Our musical and drama
festival, organized last
November, was an
outstanding event – and a
great success.

6. Ceremonies for freshmen and school-
leavers are also colourful and
interesting spots of our school life …

like balls, sports competitions,
the students’ market or the
English Tea Party.

8. Our school was the first in the city
to participate in the widely known
and respected Flower Festival of
Debrecen, taking place on August
20 each year.

15. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
• The school has developed a number of
valuable relationships with schools from
many countries.
• We have participated in several Comenius
and Socrates projects.
• We are glad to invite our partners or
organize student exchanges every now and
then.
