3. Possible + Actual TOC Image
This image is pretty much what I was going for except
the small imperfections such as the female model’s foot
being slightly cut off.
The male model also has a slight smile on his face which
is not really what I was going for as I wanted the story
behind the image to be of the struggles of an artist trying
to make it by handing out his mix tapes – but then being
rejected.
The chosen one
This image however is nearly exactly the same, except
the model’s foot can be seen in full and the male
model has a better facial expression. A combination
of these two aspects has led me to use this in my table
of contents.
4. Inspiration for this image
This is an image taken from my XXL magazine. Having looked through the
magazine for inspiration I came across this image and it sparked immediate ideas.
Eventually, I came up with the ‘trials and tribulations’ idea of what an artist had to
go through to make it the top.
I used this image as a template, however I used 2 models in mine and make the
male model pose slightly different with the DVD’s which were his ‘mix tapes’.
5. Possible + Actual TOC Image
This image is something similar to that of what I wanted,
however there are some problems with it.
Firstly, it cannot be used because of the slight blur in it
which effectively ruins the quality. The model’s facial
expression is also smiling, which is unsuitable as I was
going for more of an intriguing facial expression. The
reading material the model is holding also is
inappropriate as it is a well known newspaper and I
wouldn’t want the front page political controversy to
detract from the overall image and all else appearing on
my contents page.
The chosen one
This image is similar but is more suitable in a number of
ways. Firstly, the blur of the above image is not present,
the model’s facial expression is more mysterious which is
what I was looking for and the reading material is more
relevant as this is the magazine I have been analyzing
throughout my Media project and is based on music.
6. Possible + Actual TOC Image
This image is one of the ones captured during
my photo shoot. The models are in a good
position, pulling appropriate poses and have
good facial expression. However, as I carried on
shooting I got a better shot…
The chosen one
This image however is nearly exactly the same,
except you can see the small, white squares on
the other side on the zebra crossing. I prefer this
image as I believe this aspect of the photo adds
more dimensions and therefore looks better.
7. Inspiration for this image
Seeing the Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ image
inspired this image a tremendous amount as I
actually got the idea from this photo. I didn’t
want to copy the image exactly by asking the
models to do the same pose. Instead, I told
the models which poses to do as it gave the
sense of them being in a girl band and that its
different to the Beatles image.
8. Actual TOC Image
This image is a primary photo
taken when I went to a Tinie
Tempah Concert.
This picture is extremely relevant
as it was a music concert, at an
interesting venue appropriate for
music and Tinie Tempah is a
music artist suitable to my genre.
The image is clear in the fact the
artist can be seen and the blue
lights in the background add
interest to the image. The artists
name is also clearly seen on the
music box.

9. Inspiration for this image
This is another image I took from my XXL magazine. Having looked
through the magazine for inspiration I came across this image of Wiz
Khalifa and thought of the immediate association with my image
Tinie Tempah.
Both these artists were in a concert when the images were taken and
there is similarities with effects such as the lighting.
10. Actual TOC Image
This is the image I will use for the editor’s photo. It is
suitable as it is an image of me at the carnival which
is a celebration music from around the round.
The pose also suggests being pleased and this is
appropriate as its almost as if I’m giving a thumps up
to the issue of the magazine.
Initially, I was in the photo with a friend but in order
to make the image and my Table of Contents look
authentic, I had to crop my friend out and use just
the image of myself.
