The young Modernites of class II confidently recited poems in an English
Recitation Competition “Rhythmic Rhymes” held on 08. July 2014( Tuesday).
The participants, dressed up in lively costumes, effortlessly delivered poems on
the stage. The poems selected by them matched well with their age.
6. Hindi Declamation Competition
‘Grandparents - strong roots of a family tree’!!
Hindi Declamation Competition on the topic ‘Parivar Mein Buzurgon ka
Mahatva’ was organised on 10 July 2014( Thursday) for the students of
class III . The participants portrayed the best of their rhetoric skills and
certainly made the audience comprehend the value of having grandparents
in one’s life..

7. Hindi Rhyme Competition
Poetry –A stream of thoughts in a rhythmic form!!
The tiny tots of Pre Primary recited rhymes with an ease on ‘Vaigyanik Upkaran’ in Hindi
Rhyme Recitation Competition held for them on 17 July 2014 (Thursday). Dressed up as
mobile phones, T.V, computer and the like, they not only heeded the rhymes but also learnt
about various scientific gadgets and their uses. The competition unquestionably helped
them in becoming techno-strong.

8. Magic Show
Keep your eyes open!!!!
An extraordinary magic show was arranged for the little kids
of Pre School and Pre Primary on 24 July 2014 (Thursday).
The tricks performed by the magician left them enthralled.
The show definitely gave them moments to remember
forever.
9. Hindi Kavita Path Pratiyogita
The time to save the earth is NOW!!!
The young learners of class I realised the immediate need to protect and conserve
our green wealth through a Hindi Kavita Path Pratiyogita structured for them on
31 July 2014( Thursday). They came fully clad in colourful costumes which enhanced
their presentation many folds.

10. Celebrating the festival of love and joy!
The festival of Eid was celebrated merrily by the little Modernites on
29 July 2014(Tuesday). The event helped them learn to value all religions
and festivities prevailing in their country. They all hugged and wished
each other “Eid Mubarak” and also prayed for hearts and homes filled
with blessings of Allah.

also nipped mango juice with
their fellow classmates and
teachers and enjoyed the day.

12. To evoke in our students the feelings of holiness, a visit to
ISKON Temple was planned on 7, 8 and 12 August 2014 for
Pre School, Pre Primary and class I respectively. The students
prayed to the almighty with all the faith in their young
hearts. The visit undoubtedly helped in making them
spiritually inclined.

With the essence of freedom!!!
Independence Day celebrations always make us
remember those, who laid down their lives so that
India could breathe this day. The same was
experienced by the little Modernites on the occasion
of Independence Day as they participated in an array
of activities organised for them. The students of Pre
School showcased their creativity by making tri colour
eye masks. Paper Crumpling activity was conducted for
Pre Primary whereas class I enjoyed munching tri
colour sandwiches with their friends. Class II made
paper collage on the tri colour flag and class III
prepared stunning headgears using the vivacious
colours of the flag.
14. Janmashtmi
“Lord Krishna’s flute invites the melody of
love and happiness in life.”
The auspicious festival of Janmashtmi was celebrated with
full verve and vitality by the enthusiastic Modernites
wherein they dressed in the attires of Lord Krishna and
Radha. They also adorned themselves with beautiful
peacock feather headgears. Students of Pre Primary
decorated ‘matki’ making the best of their creative talent.
They also depicted scenes from Lord Krishna’s life.
15. Clown Making Activity
The more you use your creativity, the more you have it!!!!
The tiny tots of Pre School portrayed their ingenuity and creativeness through a
Clown Making Activity executed on 21 August 2014(Thursday). They had a
wonderful time making clowns using paper plates, colourful cotton balls, googly
eyes and glitters.
16. The lord Vighna Vinayak is known to remove all the obstacles in
life and shower one with bounties. The students of Pre School and Pre
Primary celebrated the pious day of Ganesh Chaturthi on 20 August 2014
(Friday) .They came dressed up as Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Goddess
Parvati. They also relished ‘ladoos’ with their friends. Enactment of
Ganesh Visarjan was a vital part of the celebration.

17. MaskMakingActivity
Mask making Activity was organised for the students of class IV
on 05 August 2014 (Tuesday). The activity aided the students in
displaying their imagination to the fullest. They made incredible
masks making the finest use of their creative aptitude.

18. The sacred thread of rakhi always keeps the
bond of love tied strong.
The learners of class IV & V expressed their feelings of

and rakhi threads on the blessed occasion of

19. Family Day
The love of a family is the greatest blessing in life!!!
Each member in a family has an important role to play. To
make the young learners know about the necessity of having a
family, an activity was held on 29 August 2014 (Friday)
wherein the students played the role of different family
members on the occasion of Family Day. The scholars spoke
with poise and assurance and made everyone understood the
need of love and respect for the family members.
20. Skit Competition
A skit competition on the theme ‘Sensitization towards Animal Kingdom’
was conducted for the young learners of class II on 02 September 2014
(Tuesday). The students were sensitized on various causes like Save the
Sparrow, Love Stray Dogs, Save Tigers and Love Animals which made them
realise their duties towards their fellow earth mates.

21. International School Activity
A range of activities was
organized under the ISA
scheme for the learners of
Pre Primary and Class I.
‘Animals found in India,
Malaysia and Australia’
was the theme for the
same. Observing Wild Life
Conservation Day was a
fundamental part of the

animal party scene was

22. Hindi Hasya Kavita Path Pratiyogita
The talented Modernites of Pre School manifested
the best of their comical sense in a Hindi Hasya
Kavita Path Pratiyogita held for them on 10
September 2014 (Wednesday). The young
comedians made everyone laugh to their heart’s
content.

23. Kahani Vachan Pratiyogita
Stories are the best way to inculcate moral values in young minds.
Keeping this in mind, a story telling competition was held for the learners
of Pre Primary on 12 September 2014 ( Friday). Narration of a variety of
moral-based stories was witnessed by one and all present.

24. Maths Day Activity
Every problem has a solution!!!
Maths Day was observed and celebrated with a
great zing by the students of Class III on 11 September 2014 (Thursday).
Character portrayal of renowned mathematicians like Aryabhatta,
Shakuntala Devi, Brahmagupta etc was done to make the learners aware
of them. The students also solved worksheets on Mental Maths in their
classrooms. The celebration certainly facilitated students in
understanding the importance of the subject in day-to-day life.

25. Fancy Dress Competition
Fancy Dress Competition was arranged for the little students of Class I on
18 September 2014 (Thursday). They clothed as different characters like Lord
Ram, Hanuman, Narendra Modi etc and voiced a few sentences on the same. The
activity provided them with a great opportunity to demonstrate their potential.

26. Fun with Fruits and Vegetables
The tiny toddlers of Pre School and Pre Primary had
immeasurable fun with fresh fruits and vegetables in an
activity held for them on 19 September 2014 ( Friday).
The activity made them recognize the inevitability of
including fresh fruits and veggies in their diet. They also
enjoyed a delectable salad with their pals.

28. Youare a treasureof a family, A gift of greatestprice
There’s no one quite as special,And no one quiteas nice.
A group comprising of 18 students and 2 teachers visited
Vanprastha Old Age Home on 2 August 2014. The visit was a
remarkable experience for one ancared all as the occasion was
brimmed with love, compassion, empathy and. The elders
blessed all the children for their success.
29. Installation Programme for Interact Club
Threecheersfor InteractClubfor theyare makingthisworlda beautifulplaceto live in!
The Installation Programme of the Interact Club was held on 5 July, 2014. The
programme was graced by Members of Rotary Club of Delhi Akash including
President Mr. Vivek Sardana, former President Dr. Rakesh Anand and Secretary
Mr. Vivek Kakkar. The programme entailed an interactive session where the
report of the activities held in 2013-14 was read and the elected board member
swore to their duties.
30. MODERNITES SALUTE FREEDOM FIGHTERS
To pay homage to the martyrs, the 68 Independence
Day was celebrated on 13 August 2014
with great fanfare and zest. A plethora of activities
was organized for classes VI to X to instill patriotism
amongst the students.
31. LET’S JOIN HANDS TO CONFRONT SERIOUS
ISSUES
A street play was organized on 19 July 2014 at Kela Godwown
slums by a group of 8 students with an aim to apprise the
people of dangerous diseases like Malaria, Dengue, etc, their
symptoms and the precautionary measures to be taken to avoid
such diseases .Their effective presentation with conviction won
the hearts of one and all.
32. Blood Donation Camp
The school organized a blood donation camp in association with
Rotary Club on 26 July 2014 under the able supervision of well
experienced and well trained doctors. Around 150 donors came for
different walks of life to donate the precious gift and experienced the
bliss of self less giving.
34. Ms. Mena Mittle, Vice Principal, attended a Professional Development
Programme on 12 August 2014 at Bal Bharti Public School, Training Center,
Pitampura, The theme of the workshop was: “Using Data for School
Improvement”. Dr. Ratna Dhamija, Manager Australian Council for Education
Research presided over the gathering. The group discussed and reached an
understanding on the relevance of accurate data collection, analysis and storage
for success of any educational system. The workshop concluded with sample
data analysis followed by feedback from the participants.
National Consultation on School Based Counseling and Special Needs Services
Madam Principal Mrs. Alka Kapur and Mrs. Sapna S Manglani attended a
round table consultative meet held on 2 August 2014, Saturday, at India
International Center, New Delhi. The meet was held with the aim of creating
potential resources, evolving innovative teaching – learning methodologies,
devising learner centered paradigms and developing a core understanding of
Inclusive Education in the context of the social culture milieu.
35. Mr. Lali Mathew attended a two day professional Development
Programme for the Post Graduate teachers at Bal Bharti Public School,
Pitampura from 1 August–2 August 2014.The theme of the workshop
was to analyse the “Emerging Trends in Teaching of English language at
senior secondary level”. The inspirational session was conducted by
Mr.R.Meganathan Asst. Professor of English, N.C.E.R.T. and galaxy of
speakers including Dr. Vandana Mohan Nakhlje(N.C.E.R.T) and Ms.
Meenakhshi Khar(N.C.E.R.T).
Ms. Sindhu Vikram attended a Workshop on “Roof top solar
photovoltaic scheme” on 25 July 2014. It was headed by Mr.
Shirish Garud Associate Director TERI, Dr. Anil Kumar Director, Dept. of
Environment. The Key Note address was given by Dr. Arun Kumar
Tripathi Director MNRE. The experts discussed the advantage of
installing different types of Roof top solar PV’s. The session ended with
an exposure visit to the roof top solar PV system installed in the building
was also done.
36. Workshop on Teacher’s Induction Programme
A Teacher’s Induction Programme was conducted in our school under
the Microsoft Create to Inspire School Programme, on 28 July 2014.
Mr. Rohit Prakash from I-dreams conducted the workshop and
introduced the toolkit. It consists of 14 exercises from diverse areas
of Bio-diversity, E-waste Urban Transportation, Energy and water.
It was quite an informative session.
37. A work shop was conducted in school for students
of class IX and XI to generate awareness on
causative factors leading to obesity and its effects
on general health of children. The talk was
delivered by Dr. Anita Malhotra who explained
this disorder in much detail to the students and
urgedthemto adopta healthydietarylifestyle.

66. •In 3rd Open Delhi NCR all Martial arts Self Defence
championship 2014-15. Our students have shown
exemplary performance and bagged 9 gold,11 silver and
5 bronze medals. Our school was also adjudged as most
disciplined school amongst the participants.
•It is a matter of great pride that Karan Keswani Class X of our
school has been selected for centre level of National Student
Science Seminar, 2014. The topic of the seminar was -
Innovation in Agriculture for sustainable future - Prospects
and Concerns.

•Sahil Rasiwasia and Vibhu Ramuka of Class XI exibited
their exemplary oratory skills in the Inter Zonal Hindi
Debate Competition and did the school proud by bagging
the First Position.
•Prerna Dewan of Class VII secured the First Position in
Inter Zonal English Extempore Competition.
•Harshit Jain and Grishika Virodhiya of Class X and VIII
added another feather to the school’s cap by winning the
First and Second position respectively in the Inter Zonal
English Poetry Recitation Competition.

class VIII in “WEB COMBAT ACTIVITY held on 15 July 2014. The
students were provided with different themes and the outcomes were
applaudedby one and all.
70. TEACHERS’ DAy
Class XII students took over the mantle of
responsibility and stepped into the shoes of their
teachers and took charge of the school on the
occasion of Teachers’ Day(5 September 2014).
71. Modernites had an interaction with Honorable Prime Minister
Mr. Narender Modi on occasion of Teachers’ Day. Cherished
moments were shared amongst the students that made the
interaction interesting and lively . The students were highly
impressed and motivated with his effective communication,
conviction and unparallel strength to overcome hurdles in life.

72. The strengthening of the co-curricular area of learning
through relevant and quality school activities is an effective
force to involve students in their diverse interests.
So, in order to promote internationalism, a congregation of
activities was conducted for the students of class VIII, IX and
X with a motto to promote “Sustainable use of Natural
Resources.” These activities were clear rewards in the form of
fun and enhanced life skills.

73. Momentous occasion with the President of India
One teacher and four students of the school visited
Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet Honorable President of India on
the occasion of Rakshabandhan on 10 August 2014.
74. An Inter House Activity on ‘Women Achievers’ was conducted on
2 August 2014 for the students of class VI and VII. Students portrayed
themselves as different women achievers who have left indelible imprints
in different fields. Benazir Bhutto , Devika Rani, Shahnaz Hussain were a
few out of many celebrities that the students portrayed.

•Students of class XII had a session on quality circle on
Proper Planning on 23 July 2014. The students
emphasized on the importance of planning to reach the
zenith. Effective presentation with perfect coordination
was applauded by one and all.
•Students of class VII had an effective presentation on
Reading is the fountain of wisdom on 6 August 2014 .
They pondered on the importance of reading and steps to
inculcate good reading habits.
•Class VIII students had thought provoking presentation on
Leadership on 22 August 2014 wherein they shared
their opinion on various traits and skills required to be an
effective and efficient leader.

The arty students of class IV decorated and
adorned kites on the occasion of Independence
Day on 14.08.2014 (Thursday). The beautifully
embellished kites symbolized freedom that
