X started her writing journey as a freelance writer for The Times
of India and the NFDC publication Cinema in India. Her poems
have been published in anthologies of the Poetry Society of
India. After completing her graduation in Sociology, she worked
with noted filmmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza as an assistant
director. In 1995, she went on to do a short course in filmmaking
from the Tisch School of Arts, New York University, New York.
Upon her return, she joined her father as an assistant on his
notable films Maachis and Hu Tu Tu. She directed her first film in
2002. Her 2015 movie was a critical success and box-office hit.

In North America, variations of the game are sold under the brand
names Sorry!, Aggravation, and Trouble.
In Germany, this game is called "Mensch ärgere dich nicht" which
means "Man, don't get irritated”.
In Estonia, it is called "Reis ümber maailma" (Trip around the world).
In Greece, the game is called [Griniaris] ("Grumbler") referring to
typical player behaviour.
In Macedonia, the name means "Don't get angry, man".
In Sweden it is known as "Fia", a name derived from the Latin
word fiat which means "so be it!" Common variations on the name are
"Fia-spel" (Fia the game) and "Fia med knuff" (Fia with push). In
Denmark and Norway though, the game is known as X.

Cicero, in the first century BC, in his De Legibus, used a similar phrase
in Latin, possibly the precursor to the modern expressions, "Excitabat
enim fluctus in simpulo ut dicitur Gratidius“. The phrase also appeared
in its French form "une tempête dans un verre d'eau”, to refer to the
popular uprising in the Republic of Geneva near the end of the 17th
century.
One of the earliest occurrences in print of the modern version is in
1815, as referring to a popular uprising on the Isle of Man as a
X. Also Lord North, Prime Minister of Great Britain, is credited for
popularizing this phrase as characterizing the outbreak of American
colonists against the tax on tea. Just a little later, in 1825, in the
Scottish journal Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, a critical review of
poets Hogg and Campbell also included the phrase X.

The modern West generally associates Xs with wisdom.
This link goes back at least as far as Ancient Greece,
noted for art and scholarship, where Y, had X as a
symbol. Veneration of the X as a goddess, has also been
traced to the culture of Old Europe, long pre-dating Indo-
European cultures.
The association with Y is evident in the scientific name of
a genus of X, which has the species X brama, X noctua, X
blewitti and X cunicularia
In Indian mythology, Z is also associated with Xs, being
called Ulkavahini, which means One who rides an X.
X: Owl
Y: Athena
Z: Lakshmi

Y’s first aerodynamic experiments, an investigation of the air resistance of
surfaces, was carried out by dropping the surface to be investigated together
with a measuring apparatus down a vertical cable stretched between the
second level of the X and the ground. Using this he definitely established that
the air resistance of a body was very closely related to the square of the
airspeed. He established that the lift produced by an airfoil was the result of a
reduction of air pressure above the wing rather than an increase of pressure
acting on the under surface. In 1913 he was awarded the Samuel P. Langley
Medal for Aerodromics by the Smithsonian Institution, with Alexander
Graham Bell saying at the ceremony, “….his writings upon the resistance of
the air have already become classical.”

The 2014-15 Dallas Mavericks used to play a run ‘n style of basketball. This led to
the big three of the team Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis and Chandler Parsons being
dubbed as X, referring to an iconic hip hop group in 80s. They even came out with
video parodying one of the group’s songs, and the photo above is a still from that
video. ID X.

X is credited as being a defining moment in Hindi cinema's box office
history, and the beginning of a revolution in the Indian film distribution
system. When it was released, cinema was in decline in India due to
improved cable television, home video, and film piracy. The film was
originally released in only a small number of theatres that agreed to
upgrade their facilities. Due to widespread demand for the film, many
other theatres upgraded in order to get the film. Although ticket prices
were raised, the upgraded theatres brought people back who had
been lost to television Also, the film's lack of vulgarity was a sign to
middle-class family patrons that they could return to the theatre. This
film, in addition to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, contributed to an
increase in Indian cinema attendance of 40% in just two years.

Inspired by the 1992 novel Ishmael by Daniel Quinn,
guitarist Tosin Abasi coined the name as a reminder that
"We're all essentially animals". Abasi went into further
depth by saying, "The name is kind of like, a lot of what
we do is completely removed from the fact that we’re all
essentially animals. We have a niche on the planet and
we have a role in sustainable sort of ecology. But we’ve
gone against our natural calling. The name is
acknowledging that we do have more of a natural role on
the planet. It’s also like, who would follow an animal to
do anything? I think of the name as being both
nonsensical and really literal."

The American English word X is taken directly from Spanish X
which roughly translates into English as "round up."
The Spanish word is derived from a verb meaning "to
surround" or "go around," used to refer to "a pen for cattle at
a fair or market," derived from the Latin rota or
rotare, meaning to rotate or go around.
In Spanish America, the X was the process that was used by
vaqueros (horse-mounted herders) to gather cattle for various
purposes, such as moving them to new pastures, separating
the cattle owned by different ranchers, or gathering in
preparation for slaughter. The term was also used to refer to
exhibitions of skills used in the working X. It was this latter
usage which refers to its current meaning.

- Each Team gets three tries for attempting to break the
tower.
- If a team is successful in getting a X, the player which
broke the tower gets an additional three tries.
- If a player successfully breaks the tower but a player
from the opposite team catches the ball before it hits
the ground, then the attacking player is deprived of his
remaining tries.
- When a player from defending team picks up a tennis
ball they may not move from that position till they
have thrown the ball away.

Xans often call the island Borinquen – a derivation of Borikén,
its indigenous name, which means "Land of the Valiant Lord. The
terms boricua and borincano derive
from Borikén and Borinquen respectively, and are commonly used to
identify someone of Xan heritage. The island is also popularly known in
Spanish as la isla del encanto, meaning "the island of enchantment”.
Columbus named the island Y Bautista, in honor of
the Catholic Saint John the Baptist, while the capital city was
namedCiudad de X which means ‘Rich Port’. Eventually traders and
other maritime visitors came to refer to the entire island as X, while Y
became the name used for the main trading/shipping port and the
capital city.

The word tsiology is a nineteenth century expression. Rare and
obscure, tsiology was said to mean “a scientific dissertation on X.” As a
term, tsiology was expressly coined in 1826 for a polemical account published
that very year in London. In keeping with the expository style of titles of the
time, the name of the book ran on at some length: ”Tsiology: A Discourse on
X. Being an account of that exotic, botanical, chemical, commercial and
medical, with notices of its adulteration, the means of its detection…..
etc.” The small, one volume book was written by an English author who
anonymously and simply referred to himself as “An X Dealer.” In addition to
being an exposition on X, Tsiology was a defense of the East India Company
monopoly and a critique of not only escalating government tariffs but also of
fraudulent schemes disrupting the domestic X trade. Tsiology temporarily
attracted London readers with its facade of scholarship, the book surviving
three editions printed over a year or so. While the book raised several
important and timely issues about the British trade, the term tsiology never
gained acceptance as an expression of X, and indeed it all but vanished from
literary as well as spoken English.

According to the author of a commentary on Amarakosha the
word X derives from the Sanskrit word meaning “to obstruct”.
A mythological story states that the Xs once obstructed the
path of the sun, resulting in this name. According to another
theory, the name means "hunter" in Sanskrit, and may refer to
the adivasi (tribal) hunter-gatherers inhabiting the region. The
Greek geographer Ptolemy called the range Ouindion,
describing it as the source of Namados and Nanagouna rivers.
The "Daksinaparvata" ("Southern Mountain") mentioned in
the Kaushitaki Upanishad (a text inside the Rigveda) is also
identified with the Xs.

Various Indian holy books like Mahabharata, Puranas etc relate
that Ashwini Kumar brothers, the twins, who were RajVaidhya (Royal
Physicians) to Devas during Vedic times, first prepared this formulation
for X Rishi at his Ashram on Dhosi Hill near Narnaul, Haryana, India,
hence the name Y .The first historically documented formula for Y
appears in the Charaka Samhita, the ancient Ayurvedic treatise from
the early first millennium BCE. Identify Y, strongly associated with the
childhoods of most Indians.

In English, the name of the city X literally means "muddy
confluence“, probably referring to the fact that it was
founded at the confluence of two rivers. It was originally
a small settlement of just a few houses. X was established
circa 1857, when the Chief of Klang, Raja Abdullah bin
Raja Jaafar, aided by his brother Raja Juma'at, raised
funds to hire some Chinese miners to open new tin mines
here. The miners landed at X and continued their journey
on foot to Ampang where the first mine was opened. X
was the furthest point up the Klang River to which
supplies could conveniently be brought by boat; it
therefore became a collection and dispersal point serving
the tin mines.

“X" was originally created by singer-songwriter-producer Angela Hunte, a native of
Brooklyn, along with her writing partner. Hunte grew up in the same building where rapper
and hip hop artist Y lived—560 State Street, an address which is mentioned in the song. The
track's creation was inspired during an overseas trip Hunte and her partner made to London
in February 2009 when they were both feeling homesick. Hunte recalls, "We said to
ourselves, 'we complain so much about New York—about the busy streets, about the
crowds and the pushing, about the subway system—but I would trade that for anything
right now.' Before we left the hotel that night, we knew we would write a song about our
city.“They wrote the song as a simple way to voice their feelings for their hometown, and
send it to the Roc Nation music label the following month in hope that Y would like it and
record it. In the summer of the same year, EMI’s Jon Platt heard the track at a barbecue and
fell in love with it, believing that "it would be perfect for Y“
Originally composed as a song to be sung, Y ended up rewriting new verses inspired from
the original lyrics and leaving Hunte on the song's hook. However, when Hunte was asked if
they thought someone else would be more appropriate for the chorus, Hunte suggested Z.
Z recalls, "There was a first phone call, and Y hit me up like, 'I feel like I have this record
that's going to be the anthem of New York'"
X: Empire State of Mind

The American city X is most widely recognized by its
nickname ‘Y’. Taken literally, Y is largely a misnomer,
because X is not significantly windier than any other
U.S. city. For example, the average annual wind
speed of X is, 10.3 mph (16.6 km/h), with a large
number of cities clocking higher speeds. However,
the cool lake breeze from Lake Michigan probably
led to X being dubbed ‘Y’, although ‘Y’ first
appeared in sporting news in the 1870s and 1880s
concerning the rivalry of X with Cincinatti.
X: Chicago
Y: Windy City

The height of the floors commemorates the renewal of time: the new
century that arrived as the tower was built and all the new years that
follow. It symbolizes high ideals by going one better on 100, a
traditional number of perfection. The number also evokes the binary
numeral system used in digital technology. The main tower features a
series of eight segments of eight floors each which is associated
with abundance, prosperity and good fortune for the culture in
majority here. In cultures that observe a seven-day week the number
eight symbolizes a renewal of time (7+1). In digital technology the
number eight is associated with the byte, being 8 bits. A bit is the basic
(minimal) unit of information. The repeated segments simultaneously
recall the rhythms of an Asian pagoda (a tower linking earth and sky), a
stalk of bamboo (an icon of learning and growth), and a stack of
ancient money boxes (a symbol of abundance).

In Germany, this game is called "Mensch ärgere dich nicht" which means "Man, don't get irritated”. In Estonia, it is called "Reis ümber maailma" (Trip around the world). In Greece, the game is called [Griniaris] ("Grumbler") referring to typical player behaviour. In Macedonia, the name means "Don't get angry, man". In Sweden it is known as "Fia", a name derived from the Latin word fiat which means "so be it!" Common variations on the name are "Fia-spel" (Fia the game) and "Fia med knuff" (Fia with push). In Denmark and Norway though, the game is known as X.

  • 10. 3. Cicero, in the first century BC, in his De Legibus, used a similar phrase in Latin, possibly the precursor to the modern expressions, "Excitabat enim fluctus in simpulo ut dicitur Gratidius“. The phrase also appeared in its French form "une tempête dans un verre d'eau”, to refer to the popular uprising in the Republic of Geneva near the end of the 17th century. One of the earliest occurrences in print of the modern version is in 1815, as referring to a popular uprising on the Isle of Man as a X. Also Lord North, Prime Minister of Great Britain, is credited for popularizing this phrase as characterizing the outbreak of American colonists against the tax on tea. Just a little later, in 1825, in the Scottish journal Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, a critical review of poets Hogg and Campbell also included the phrase X.

  • 13. 4. The modern West generally associates Xs with wisdom. This link goes back at least as far as Ancient Greece, noted for art and scholarship, where Y, had X as a symbol. Veneration of the X as a goddess, has also been traced to the culture of Old Europe, long pre-dating Indo- European cultures. The association with Y is evident in the scientific name of a genus of X, which has the species X brama, X noctua, X blewitti and X cunicularia In Indian mythology, Z is also associated with Xs, being called Ulkavahini, which means One who rides an X.

  • 16. 5. Y’s first aerodynamic experiments, an investigation of the air resistance of surfaces, was carried out by dropping the surface to be investigated together with a measuring apparatus down a vertical cable stretched between the second level of the X and the ground. Using this he definitely established that the air resistance of a body was very closely related to the square of the airspeed. He established that the lift produced by an airfoil was the result of a reduction of air pressure above the wing rather than an increase of pressure acting on the under surface. In 1913 he was awarded the Samuel P. Langley Medal for Aerodromics by the Smithsonian Institution, with Alexander Graham Bell saying at the ceremony, “….his writings upon the resistance of the air have already become classical.”

This led to the big three of the team Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis and Chandler Parsons being dubbed as X, referring to an iconic hip hop group in 80s. They even came out with video parodying one of the group’s songs, and the photo above is a still from that video. ID X.

  • 22. 7. X is credited as being a defining moment in Hindi cinema's box office history, and the beginning of a revolution in the Indian film distribution system. When it was released, cinema was in decline in India due to improved cable television, home video, and film piracy. The film was originally released in only a small number of theatres that agreed to upgrade their facilities. Due to widespread demand for the film, many other theatres upgraded in order to get the film. Although ticket prices were raised, the upgraded theatres brought people back who had been lost to television Also, the film's lack of vulgarity was a sign to middle-class family patrons that they could return to the theatre. This film, in addition to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, contributed to an increase in Indian cinema attendance of 40% in just two years. Identify the film.

  • 28. 9. Inspired by the 1992 novel Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, guitarist Tosin Abasi coined the name as a reminder that "We're all essentially animals". Abasi went into further depth by saying, "The name is kind of like, a lot of what we do is completely removed from the fact that we’re all essentially animals. We have a niche on the planet and we have a role in sustainable sort of ecology. But we’ve gone against our natural calling. The name is acknowledging that we do have more of a natural role on the planet. It’s also like, who would follow an animal to do anything? I think of the name as being both nonsensical and really literal."

  • 31. 10. The American English word X is taken directly from Spanish X which roughly translates into English as "round up." The Spanish word is derived from a verb meaning "to surround" or "go around," used to refer to "a pen for cattle at a fair or market," derived from the Latin rota or rotare, meaning to rotate or go around. In Spanish America, the X was the process that was used by vaqueros (horse-mounted herders) to gather cattle for various purposes, such as moving them to new pastures, separating the cattle owned by different ranchers, or gathering in preparation for slaughter. The term was also used to refer to exhibitions of skills used in the working X. It was this latter usage which refers to its current meaning.

  • 37. 12. Xans often call the island Borinquen – a derivation of Borikén, its indigenous name, which means "Land of the Valiant Lord. The terms boricua and borincano derive from Borikén and Borinquen respectively, and are commonly used to identify someone of Xan heritage. The island is also popularly known in Spanish as la isla del encanto, meaning "the island of enchantment”. Columbus named the island Y Bautista, in honor of the Catholic Saint John the Baptist, while the capital city was namedCiudad de X which means ‘Rich Port’. Eventually traders and other maritime visitors came to refer to the entire island as X, while Y became the name used for the main trading/shipping port and the capital city. X and Y.

  • 40. 13. The word tsiology is a nineteenth century expression. Rare and obscure, tsiology was said to mean “a scientific dissertation on X.” As a term, tsiology was expressly coined in 1826 for a polemical account published that very year in London. In keeping with the expository style of titles of the time, the name of the book ran on at some length: ”Tsiology: A Discourse on X. Being an account of that exotic, botanical, chemical, commercial and medical, with notices of its adulteration, the means of its detection….. etc.” The small, one volume book was written by an English author who anonymously and simply referred to himself as “An X Dealer.” In addition to being an exposition on X, Tsiology was a defense of the East India Company monopoly and a critique of not only escalating government tariffs but also of fraudulent schemes disrupting the domestic X trade. Tsiology temporarily attracted London readers with its facade of scholarship, the book surviving three editions printed over a year or so. While the book raised several important and timely issues about the British trade, the term tsiology never gained acceptance as an expression of X, and indeed it all but vanished from literary as well as spoken English.

  • 43. 14. According to the author of a commentary on Amarakosha the word X derives from the Sanskrit word meaning “to obstruct”. A mythological story states that the Xs once obstructed the path of the sun, resulting in this name. According to another theory, the name means "hunter" in Sanskrit, and may refer to the adivasi (tribal) hunter-gatherers inhabiting the region. The Greek geographer Ptolemy called the range Ouindion, describing it as the source of Namados and Nanagouna rivers. The "Daksinaparvata" ("Southern Mountain") mentioned in the Kaushitaki Upanishad (a text inside the Rigveda) is also identified with the Xs.

Various Indian holy books like Mahabharata, Puranas etc relate that Ashwini Kumar brothers, the twins, who were RajVaidhya (Royal Physicians) to Devas during Vedic times, first prepared this formulation for X Rishi at his Ashram on Dhosi Hill near Narnaul, Haryana, India, hence the name Y .The first historically documented formula for Y appears in the Charaka Samhita, the ancient Ayurvedic treatise from the early first millennium BCE. Identify Y, strongly associated with the childhoods of most Indians.

  • 50. 16. (+50, -40) In English, the name of the city X literally means "muddy confluence“, probably referring to the fact that it was founded at the confluence of two rivers. It was originally a small settlement of just a few houses. X was established circa 1857, when the Chief of Klang, Raja Abdullah bin Raja Jaafar, aided by his brother Raja Juma'at, raised funds to hire some Chinese miners to open new tin mines here. The miners landed at X and continued their journey on foot to Ampang where the first mine was opened. X was the furthest point up the Klang River to which supplies could conveniently be brought by boat; it therefore became a collection and dispersal point serving the tin mines.

  • 53. 17. (X, Y, Z) (+40, -30) “X" was originally created by singer-songwriter-producer Angela Hunte, a native of Brooklyn, along with her writing partner. Hunte grew up in the same building where rapper and hip hop artist Y lived—560 State Street, an address which is mentioned in the song. The track's creation was inspired during an overseas trip Hunte and her partner made to London in February 2009 when they were both feeling homesick. Hunte recalls, "We said to ourselves, 'we complain so much about New York—about the busy streets, about the crowds and the pushing, about the subway system—but I would trade that for anything right now.' Before we left the hotel that night, we knew we would write a song about our city.“They wrote the song as a simple way to voice their feelings for their hometown, and send it to the Roc Nation music label the following month in hope that Y would like it and record it. In the summer of the same year, EMI’s Jon Platt heard the track at a barbecue and fell in love with it, believing that "it would be perfect for Y“ Originally composed as a song to be sung, Y ended up rewriting new verses inspired from the original lyrics and leaving Hunte on the song's hook. However, when Hunte was asked if they thought someone else would be more appropriate for the chorus, Hunte suggested Z. Z recalls, "There was a first phone call, and Y hit me up like, 'I feel like I have this record that's going to be the anthem of New York'"

  • 56. 18. (+30, -20) The American city X is most widely recognized by its nickname ‘Y’. Taken literally, Y is largely a misnomer, because X is not significantly windier than any other U.S. city. For example, the average annual wind speed of X is, 10.3 mph (16.6 km/h), with a large number of cities clocking higher speeds. However, the cool lake breeze from Lake Michigan probably led to X being dubbed ‘Y’, although ‘Y’ first appeared in sporting news in the 1870s and 1880s concerning the rivalry of X with Cincinatti.

  • 59. 19. (+20, -10) The height of the floors commemorates the renewal of time: the new century that arrived as the tower was built and all the new years that follow. It symbolizes high ideals by going one better on 100, a traditional number of perfection. The number also evokes the binary numeral system used in digital technology. The main tower features a series of eight segments of eight floors each which is associated with abundance, prosperity and good fortune for the culture in majority here. In cultures that observe a seven-day week the number eight symbolizes a renewal of time (7+1). In digital technology the number eight is associated with the byte, being 8 bits. A bit is the basic (minimal) unit of information. The repeated segments simultaneously recall the rhythms of an Asian pagoda (a tower linking earth and sky), a stalk of bamboo (an icon of learning and growth), and a stack of ancient money boxes (a symbol of abundance).
