3. History
• 1983
– A stronger structure was built by Fr. Renato Frias of Sta. Clara de
Montefalco, Pasay
– There was confusion among the community as to whether they
belonged to the Sta. Clara Parish in Pasay or to San Ildefonso Parish
in Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati.
– Bishop Gabriel Reyes decided that the chapel should be part of San
Ildefonso Parish.
– Fr. John Rizzato of the Salesians of Don Bosco, then parish priest of
San Ildefonso, agreed to unite the barangay under one parish
4. History
• 1987 (Birth of Holy Family Parish)
– Fr. Douglas envisioned the future church to be a shrine under the
tutelage of the Holy Family since he noticed how the community
worked together in building their place of worship in unity, peace and
love like their patron San Isidro Labrador.
– Due to an existing San Isidro Parish Church in Taft Ave., Fr. Douglas
and the community embraced the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and
Joseph as the patron of the newly constructed church.
• April 26, 1993 - The Holy Family Church was officially established as a
parish.
