Our audience feedback group told us they use Radio 3 while they do other activities and primarily using their phone. “I LISTEN WHILE I’M DOING HOUSEWORK... “LISTEN ON MY PHONE.. 3
  • 4. RADIO 3 RECOMMEND GREAT CLASSICAL MUSIC AT A TIME THAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU Put simply. Create an app or service which recommends great classical music at a time that’s right for you. 4
  • 5. RADIO 3 ACTIVITIES A smartphone app would, ask the audience which activities they typically do during the day. Activities which require a lot of movement and motion, or those which are quite and focused. 5
  • 6. RADIO 3 FEELING Perhaps you’d like to be recommended music based around a mood or feeling. 6
  • 7. RADIO 3 WHEN DO YOU LISTEN? Next, we’d like to find out when you listen during the day. 7

  • 9. RADIO 3 + = TASTE PROFILE 9 By making selections each user creates a taste profile, which gives recommendations for music to listen now or be notified later.

  • 13. RADIO 3 TASTE PROFILE The taste profile would use a combination of human and machine learning. Using services like Echonest and Mechnical Turk to classify the catalogue. 13

In Summary: FLEXIBILE MUSIC CONSUMPTION BUILT AROUND YOUR TASTES AND ROUTINE We think this would be an interesting prototype to build, it could provide an easier way into radio 3 performances for new users and has a chance to build a habit around listening.
