4. Playground Designer Snapshot JC Boushh , the owner of Design For Play is a recognized expert in the field of playground safety, natural play environments and inclusive playground design. He has lectured nationwide as well as authored numerous articles on playground safety. He is a member of The Association for the Study of Play, The International Play Association/USA, a Participating Member of ASTM International F15.29, a Board of Trustee Member of the International Playground Contractors Association, an Associate Member of the International Playground Equipment Manufactures Association, and a member of NAEYC Play, Practice, & Policy Group. He has a deep commitment to preserving all children’s right to play. He is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, SAFE Certified by the National Program for Playground Safety, a Certified Early Childhood Outdoor Play Inspector, and has been recognized by the California State Legislature for his contribution to designing safe play environments. He is the head designer for Design for Play , and serves as a project manager and play consultant specializing in designing for children’s developmental needs through play.
14. Certified Playground Safety Inspector Design For Play , specializes in conducting New Equipment 3rd. Party Playground Installation Inspections , verifying your new playground equipments is compliant, and verifying that it as been installed properly according to the ASTM, CPSC, & ADA playground guidelines. Design For Play charges facilities an single audit price regardless of the amount of playground equipment, number of separate play areas within the property, or location within the state. The audit performed meets ASTM, CPSC, & ADA guidelines, and will take approximately 1-2 hours. The inspector will then complete the audit with a site walk-thru where we will attempt to answer all questions and concerns. You will then receive a bound copy of the audit with color pictures. Outdoor Classroom Training A Comprehensive program designed to introduce and develop play environment design skills for the child care professional Outdoor Play Environment & Classroom Design Training This workshop will focus on creating a total play environment for children incorporating art; natural areas, sand and water play as well as introducing non-traditional elements. The objective is to assist the participant in learning how to create a more natural play environment, providing children with many learning opportunities by using the natural features surrounding the playground area. We will learn how to incorporate a variety of activities (stimuli) rather than a variety of equipment, and to facilitate children’s play value by the combination of setting, challenge, and opportunity, which facilitates fully engaged exploration of the environment during independent, self-directed time.
