This document outlines the objectives and structure of an argumentative writing unit that incorporates both in-class and online components. The unit aims to help students identify the key issues in debates, take a stance and support it with evidence, and consider implications. It includes debates on topics like national service and social media use. Students conduct research in groups online and participate in an online debate platform. While there were challenges, the goal is to encourage self-directed learning through research, collaboration, and responsible online discussion.
