3. What is English? Why should we learn it?
Those kids asked us……
No one told them A B C, no one could tell
them that English is such a fun thing.
So four of us wanted to make this wish
come true---to let them “Enjoy” English!!
5. Photo with the
president
This is our team. We think that we were really
lucky to met such a great president that would
accept our project, support our project and help us,
also be so kind to us.
6. Get prepared
Our first step was to get familiar of the classrooms and
prepared for the items that we’re going to use when we
were teach.
7. What’s your name?
English name, the basic and the start of learning English. You may
think that it would only took a short time for us to learn how to
pronounced our English name, but actually it took a whole class to
let them pronounced clearly and also to know how to ask, “What is
your name?” and answered “My name is_____”
8. Group teaching
We taught them by groups, so that it would be
easier for us to teach because less people, the
easier to control.
9. Singing with Elmo
We went to the Sesame Street website to find some alphabet songs for them
to sing with us. This is the picture of the grade one students singing with Elmo.
Because most of them already know how to say A B C…Z, so it wasn’t too hard
for them to catch up with us.
10. Alphabets
We taught them how to pronounce from A to Z and also give them some easy
and useful vocabularies. We used pictures instead of Chinese because we
think that it would be better for using English to learn English, so we were
trying to use as less Chinese as we can.
11. Alphabet Game
We let them play a little game about alphabet. We write letters on the black board and spilt
them into two groups. When we say a letter, they would ran to the black board and point out
which letter was. Using this game, we found out that they could read the letters in order,
but they couldn’t really recognized the letters if it wasn’t in order.
12. It’s Story Time
We told them some easy
stories such as, “The Little Red
Hen”, “Three Little Pigs”. The
stories were kind of hard to
them, but we still tried to use
actions and pictures, instead
of Chinese to let them enjoy
English and learn English at
the same time.
13. It’s Story Time
We told them some easy
stories such as, “The Little
Red Hen”, “Three Little
Pigs”. The stories were kind
of hard to them, but we still
tried to use actions and
pictures, instead of Chinese
to let them enjoy English
and learn English at the
same time.
15. Singing We also taught
them how to sing
and let them
dance with us.
We found out that
actions really
helped them
remembering and
understanding
the words. Also, it
make them enjoy
English more.
22. Ending
The last day, Debby and I made a
power point to teach them a song---
Proud of you.
We wanted to tell them they are
wonderful kids, and they have to
trust themselves
We danced with the song…….

24. This is the power point we
made
Full of memory
