2. PEOPLE ARE LESS SOCIAL THAN EVER
• Social networks, while connecting people virtually, do not
foster any real community or personal interaction.
• Facebook is only used because there is no reason to
switch to another social network
4. WHAT DO PEOPLE DO
FOR FUN?
• Concerts
• Movies
• Yoga Classes
• Dance Classes
• Video Game Tournaments
• Music Lessons
• They want to play Basketball, Football, Soccer, Rugby, etc.
• Book Clubs
• The list is endless
5. WHY NOT GIVE IT TO
THEM?
• If a mobile app company were to host fun events en mass
at a free or discounted rate people, students especially,
would use the app.
• The catch being that they would need to sign in with their
profile on their smartphone.
• This would give social networking a physical presence
instead of only an online one, which would also users
would also have.
6. HOW TO SPREAD
• Events would be centered around colleges, similar to how
Facebook only allowed certain universities to create a
profile early on.
• Concerts would be performed by young up and coming
artists and DJs, similar to how Myspace is trying to
reinvent itself now.
• In the long term, I envision multiple centers in cities where
people would use their profile to go to a yoga class on
Mondays and salsa on Thursdays, for example.
7. OTHER BENEFITS
• I never buy birthday gifts for friends on Facebook because
I would not put my credit card info on the website. I buy
apps in Apple’s app store because I have to put in info to
download free apps and .99 cent games don’t seem like a
big deal. This app would use credits to pay for classes or
events, and if it were to go through Google+ then Google
would have the app economy that Apple has and
Facebook does not.
• It could serve the same function that my groupon app
does.
• You have users information and interest in real time.
8. WHY GOOGLE+?
• Google + is a company that does social networking as well
as Facebook, without the users.
• This app would force the movement to Google+ on mobile
and with enough integration the switch to web would be
natural.
• As college kids and other influential groups of people
begin to leave others will follow.
• Google has the resources to make this vision a reality.
