7/19/10 The goal of this session will be for teachers to create their own class website using DeSantis
iWeb. This will include going over the “basics” of iWeb, and how to do include
common features (such as calendars and blogs). Participants should bring their
MacBooks to get the most of this session. There will be time dedicated to “play” with
the software, and you will leave with at least part of your homepage completed.
Internet Search Rob
We all use search engines, but all too often students and teachers have difficulty Illuminati
finding desired information from credible sources. Many times, we don’t even realize
that we are missing the best of what is available. Find out about some of the
techniques that will help make the internet a better tool for life and for learning,
regardless of the search engines or websites you use. Also, learn about some of the
tools you and your students can evaluate websites for security, accuracy, and
copyrights, etc.
Moodle Beginner K‐5 Geri
The objective of this workshop is to provide colleagues with examples/instruction Capreri
using the Moodle and technology during Core Extension and beyond. Teachers will
leave with ideas and newly created examples to use in the classroom immediately.
Collaborative Tools Colleen
See how incorporating collaborative tools in the classroom can enhance your students’ Meulstee
education. Create accounts and learn how to utilize the basics for free online programs
such as Mixbook, Glogster, Google Docs, and Skype. Discuss and develop ways to
effectively incorporate these programs into your classroom curriculum.
Meet your Moodle 6‐12 Dianne
Learn how to utilize the basic functions and features of the Moodle. You will gather Krause
ideas for your site through discussion and exploration of previously developed sites.
You will also be given time to start creating your site (with the help of your instructor)
to put into use as soon as school starts.

7/20/10 Make music, voiceovers, slideshows, documentaries, movies, how‐to videos, video Illuminati
lesson plans and more. Also learn about copyright basics to protect you and your
students.
Data Tools Jen
Participants will gain an understanding of data tools, learn to analyze student Schmidt
performance data reports in order to identify the areas of strength and areas of
concern, and discuss the root causes of student achievement.
Wild about Wikis Jenn
In this workshop you will learn how to set up student wiki accounts, use the wikispace Palubinski
to post class information and announcements and ideas for using it as a
communication medium for and among students. Applications for displaying student
projects electronically will also be discussed.
Digital Storytelling Nina
Learn how Pixie, Storyjumper and Mixbook can motivate, inspire and enrich student Sabolsky/
writing. Participants will explore Pixie, Storyjumper and Mixbook to learn how each Donna
can be used by students to publish creative, digital books. Participants will learn the Sharp
many exciting features these programs offer and will be provided guidance as they
explore each program.

7/21/10 Is your documents folder a mess? Is your inbox jammed with mail you’re afraid to Hudimac
delete? Are you having a hard time finding the test you wrote just last week? It’s time
to get digitally organized! We will go over tips and tricks for getting and staying
organized. Topics include: smart naming of files, creating folders, organizing your e‐
mail, sorting files, and searching for files.
Extending Reading & Writing with Technology Jim
Discuss the use of blogging, wikis, and other Web 2.0 tools to foster critical analysis Shoemaker
and self‐reflection and explore issues such as: setting up blogs, wikis, and RSS
aggregators (blog readers); modifying the curriculum and creating effective
assignments that utilize Web 2.0 tools; assessing assignments and use of Web 2.0
tools. Participants will gain practical information on setting up student blogs and
methods for creating constructivist assignments, progressive units, and examples of
