4. THE MANDATE
• In terms of expenditure, not less than 20
percent of financial resources in MGNREGS
in a year will be utilized for works taken up
in convergence
• Focus of convergence will be on development
of assets capable of enhancing livelihood
• A part of the works will generate direct asset at
the household level for ST/ SC/ BPL
households and beneficiaries of IAY and Land
Reforms
There will be a ‘nodal officer for convergence’ in
each of the converging departments

unskilled wages may be added to the approved
cost of construction of houses
• This can also be utilized for any other rural
housing program
• All Widow pension receiving families may be
