There's trouble in paradise when Miles comes home from work in a funk. Things are not always perfect between these newlyweds, but do they have enough love between them to remain united during the storms?
2. Miles leaves work that evening feeling very mixed feelings. He earned a promotion, and he’s happy about that, but the pay is not much more than he was making before.
3. When he gets home, Sephora is happy to see him. Miles tries to hide his feelings about his earnings, but when she tries to kiss him, he tells her to back off. “Not right now babe,” he says with a bit more animosity than he intended.
4. Sephora is very hurt that Miles has rejected her affection. “What is it?” She asks him in a voice filled with concealed tears. He answers, “Money! What do you think! Money as usual. We don’t have any money!” Sephora is floored by Miles’ sudden anger and frustration.
5. “We left our hometown because we weren’t making any money. We come here for a fresh start and we still don’t have money!” Miles goes on. Sephora lays a gentle hand on his shoulder…
7. He goes on to complain about his boss. Miles tells her about the incident with Juan in the park earlier in the day.
8. “I thought that he would be a friend to me! Instead he stabs me in the back and tries to sabotage my career!” Miles says with much bitterness.
9. Sephora thinks that Miles is jumping to conclusions and being over dramatic about the whole situation and tells him so.
10. “What do you know?” He counteracts. Sephora knows that there is no use continuing the conversation, so she just walks away.
11. Miles, still angry and feeling betrayed by Sephora because she’s not seeing the situation with Juan the same way he is, decides that he’d better go to bed before he says something he’ll regret.
12. Miles knows that he should not be going to bed angry at his wife, but he does anyway.
27. Miles finally breaks the silence. “This is exactly why I’d hate to have children. If I can’t afford to support just the two of us-” he begins.
28. Sephora interrupts, “I don’t need to hear about you’re fear of failing, because I know that you won’t fail. I didn’t marry a failure, I married Miles Ward, because to me, he’s already a star.”
29. Miles hears what Sephora is trying to say, but he still has a ways to go before he himself truly believes that he can succeed.
30. Miles doesn’t respond, so Sephora gets up to wash her dishes. Miles jumps up to stop her…
31. He pulls her close and whispers in her ear, “I’m sorry babe. I know that with you by my side, I can do anything.”
33. Sephora can see the stubborn slight doubt that insists on hanging around in his eyes.
34. He knows that she can still see it, so he hangs in head down in shame.
35. “Hey…hold your head up and let’s back to work conquering our dreams,” Sephora boosts. Miles smiles, this is why he married Sephora. She was always his biggest cheerleader.
36. Feeling a new surge of energy and motivation, Miles gets to work reading the book that his boss Juan gave him to increase his job performance…
