through the Quality system Dedicated high-speed communication equipment

satisfaction, analyzing effectiveness and continuously pursuing improvement

     Productivity at Tricon

“What you cannot measure, you cannot manage.”

Tricon has assimilated this wisdom and reoriented its corporate culture accordingly.
You may leverage on Tricon’s project management capabilities. This involves two
areas:
• Measurement of productivity at all levels
• Providing feedbacks

We use Product metrics and Process metrics for this purpose

Product Metrics

• Size (Kloc, Function point etc.)
• Quality (Defect density, Defect distribution, Defect removal etc.)

Process Metrics

• Project management (Schedule slippage, Effort overrun etc.)
• Estimation (Changes to size, Changes to effort etc.)
• Quality Control (Test/ Review coverage etc.)
• Quality assurance (No. of non-conformances etc.)
• Configuration management (No. of baseline changes per CI etc.)
Continuous improvement through evolving
maturity of overall software process

One of the primary ways of augmenting process maturity is Reusability of
Knowledge - to skim generic knowledge out of specific problems and to make
knowledge easily accessible to all employees. Tricon has institutionalized what
is called the Knowledge Bank (KB) using wiki. The Knowledge Bank or KB, as it is
known in Tricon, is a central repository of experiential knowledge in the company. It
contains standards for project plan, program spec, test plan, etc., various checklists,
other project experiences. It includes generic knowledge, experience, best practices,
standards and guidelines for the full life cycle procedures, hardware and software
technology, business rules and practices, customer interface, training and other
generic activities. Updating the KB is a mandatory part of most processes in the
company, particularly those related to software development. With facilities like search
by key words and on line submissions, it is a critical success factor for high-paced
learning and high productivity.

  What Customers are saying?

"I just wanted to take a minute to thank you and the Tricon team for the outstanding
work you have completed on Synergy's Health Care Estimator Tool. In a fairly short
time frame you put together a team of first class programmers, and coded our
application. As with every system implementation, there were both changes to spec,
and programming bugs. Your team treated both with the same tremendous sense of
urgency, and performed most re-works, overnight. Also, I personally enjoyed working
directly with you. You were in touch with our project at all times, showed great
judgment, managed to laugh under stress, and responded promptly to all calls. We
look forward to working with Tricon again."
                                                                       Tom Kolaski

The Client is a travel and navigation Services Company founded by seasoned travel
and technology executives with prior successes at companies including AAA, AOL
Travel, EDS, IBM, LasVegas.com, Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, and Worldspan. The
Company’s patent-pending tool RoadTrip WizardTM, is a highly personalized road
trip planning and en-route service booking solution that can be easily incorporated
into any travel-related or enthusiast websites. On top of personalized road trip
planning, mapping and travel reservations, the online tool also taps into a searchable
database of nearly 5 million points of interest and events across the country.

                      The Challenges
                 • To come up with a new way for customers to plan every aspect of their road trip
all in one place—a task that previously required multiple Web sites.
                 • Develop a complex advice engine, which would ask travelers to select attributes
that best describe their interests and trip preferences, and return an itinerary,
including maps, driving directions, tourist attractions, and hotels.
                 • To develop a Web site merging the capabilities of planning, booking, mapping

Client expectations at all stages of the project, leading to a successful and timely
               delivery of the assignment.

                     The Results

As this application was the first of its kind in the world, Tricon had to rely on its
creativity and expertise to conceptualize, design, and develop the user interface.
Meticulous analysis of the requirements was carried out. In spite of incredibly narrow
timelines to get the product out before competitors could make indents on the market,
the final product was delivered with required functionality on time, on budget, and on
               target.

The Product was launched with rave reviews from the press. You can take a look at it
               at www.roadescapes.com

The applications were developed in JAVA, MySQL, Liferay, Lucene, Business

Continuous improvement through evolving maturity of overall software process One of the primary ways of augmenting process maturity is Reusability of Knowledge - to skim generic knowledge out of specific problems and to make knowledge easily accessible to all employees. Tricon has institutionalized what is called the Knowledge Bank (KB) using wiki. The Knowledge Bank or KB, as it is known in Tricon, is a central repository of experiential knowledge in the company. It contains standards for project plan, program spec, test plan, etc., various checklists, other project experiences. It includes generic knowledge, experience, best practices, standards and guidelines for the full life cycle procedures, hardware and software technology, business rules and practices, customer interface, training and other generic activities. Updating the KB is a mandatory part of most processes in the company, particularly those related to software development. With facilities like search by key words and on line submissions, it is a critical success factor for high-paced learning and high productivity. What Customers are saying? "I just wanted to take a minute to thank you and the Tricon team for the outstanding work you have completed on Synergy's Health Care Estimator Tool. In a fairly short time frame you put together a team of first class programmers, and coded our application. As with every system implementation, there were both changes to spec, and programming bugs. Your team treated both with the same tremendous sense of urgency, and performed most re-works, overnight. Also, I personally enjoyed working directly with you. You were in touch with our project at all times, showed great judgment, managed to laugh under stress, and responded promptly to all calls. We look forward to working with Tricon again." Tom Kolaski V.P. Synhrgy “We were thrilled with our experience working with Tricon. They are not just an outsourcing development crew; they truly became part of our team. We appreciate their work ethic, the quality of the engineering, the excellent project management, and the great sense of teamwork they possess.
