1. My Peace I Leave You
Christianity is a kind of love affair with our
loving Lord and Savior, and the more days
we turn into spiritual Valentine's Days...the
richer and more joyful the relationship itself
will become.
J. I. Packer
3. The Days Of Noah
Today we will start
looking at the days of
Noah.
Because Jesus said;
4. The Days Of Noah
Matt 24:36-40 "No one knows about that day or
hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,
but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For
in the days before the flood, people were eating and
drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the
day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing
about what would happen until the flood came and
took them all away. That is how it will be at the
coming of the Son of Man.
5. The Days Of Noah/2nd. Coming
No one knows the day or hour
At the coming of the Son of Man it will be like the
days of Noah
Eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
right up to the judgment.
Then, the coming of the Son of Man;
Rev 19:15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword
with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule
them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress
of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
6. 3 Groups of People
Removed before the flood.
Protected through the flood.
Destroyed by the flood.
9. Noah, A Preacher Of Righteousness
2 Peter 2:4-5 For if God did not spare angels when
they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into
gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 5 if he did
not spare the ancient world when he brought the
flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a
preacher of righteousness, and seven others;
11. One Of God’s Top Three Men
Ezek 14:14 even if these three men — Noah, Daniel
and Job — were in it, they could save only
themselves by their righteousness, declares the
Sovereign Lord.
Noah makes it into a pretty exclusive list.
Ezek 14:20 as surely as I live, declares the
Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were
in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They
would save only themselves by their righteousness.
Why were the other 7 saved?
Because of their faith.
12. Noah The Man
Noah, a preacher of righteousness
One of god’s top three men
15. By Faith Noah
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, when warned about things
not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his
family. By his faith he condemned the world and
became heir of the righteousness that comes by
faith.
16. Noah The Man
Noah, a preacher of righteousness
One of god’s top three men
Noah was saved by his faith
Noah had a holy fear of God’s judgment
Noah’s righteous preaching condemned the world
(he was not a Joel Osteen), and he did it by faith
17. Why Was Noah Saved?
The previous list is impressive
But he was saved by God’s grace,
through faith because of God’s
long suffering and patient waiting;
Who’s that?
18. God Waited Patiently In The Days Of Noah
1 Peter 3:18-21 For Christ died for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to
God. He was put to death in the body but made alive
by the Spirit, 19 through whom also he went and
preached to the spirits in prison 20 who disobeyed
long ago when God waited patiently in the days of
Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few
people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21
and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves
you also — not the removal of dirt from the body but
the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It
saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
20. Who Are The Sons Of God?
Two main camps.
Godly line of Seth
Angels
But, “The Sons Of God” aren’t the only groups
mentioned;
21. Gen 6:1-4, Identify The Groups
Men
the sons of God
the daughters of men
Man…, for he is mortal
The Nephilim
The children of the sons of God/daughters of men
heroes of old, men of renown.
22. Gen 6:1-4, Identify The Groups
Men, the daughters of men, Man…, for he is
mortal=mankind / humans
the sons of God=Angels (in this case, fallen ones)
The Nephilim=The children of the sons of
God/daughters of men,= heroes of old, men of
renown.
23. The Sons Of God, “B’nai Elohim”
You already know enough Hebrew to translate
“B’ene Elohim” or “B’nai Elohim”
"Genesis 35:18 It came about as her soul was
departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-
oni; but his father called him Benjamin."
Hers= the son of my sorrow
His= the son of the right hand
NET 2 Kings 13:24…his son Ben Hadad…
24. The Sons/Son Of God In NT
Son Of God= Adam, angels, Jesus, and Christians
Matthew 4:3 And the tempter came and said to Him, "If
You are the Son of God…
Matthew 27:54 Now the centurion…said, "Truly this was
the Son of God!“
Luke 3:38…Adam, the son of God.
Sons Of God= regenerate Christians and angels
Romans 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of
God, these are sons of God.
Luke 20:34 -36 Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age
marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are
considered worthy to attain to that age and the
resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in
marriage; 36 for they cannot even die anymore, because
they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of
the resurrection.
25. The Sons Of God, “B’nai Elohim”
Here’s the other 3 Hebrew uses of “B’nai Elohim” ;
Job 1:6 One day the angels came to present
themselves before the Lord
Job 2:1 On another day the angels came to present
themselves before the Lord….
Job 38:7….while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?
1 in Aramaic, Dan 3:25 "Look! I see four men
walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed,
and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.
26. The Sons Of God
Wayne Grudem in his “Systematic Theology” on
page 414 says, “Therefore, the “sons of God” in
Genesis 6:2 are men who are righteous in there
imitation of the character of their heavenly Father,
and the “daughters of men” are the ungodly wives
whom they marry.”
My questions are, how close is their “imitation of the
character of their heavenly Father” when they took
(elabon ) “any of them they chose” of the “ungodly
wives” of the “daughters of men.” Also, “men” had no
Godly daughters? Believer/unbeliever unions don’t
produce “heroes of old, men of renown.”
27. “They Took Any Of Them They Chose”
elabon verb indicative aorist active 3rd person
plural
elambanw … take, take hold of; receive, get,
obtain; take away, remove; collect (of taxes, etc.);
choose (He 5.1); put on (Jn 13.12); catch (Lk 5.5);
trap, take advantage of (2 Cor 11.20; 12.16)
28. Jewish and Patristic Fathers
The Jewish Fathers, Early Church Fathers and Philo of
Alexandria interpreted the expression “sons of God” in
Genesis 6:2, as "angels."
“The Early Church Fathers believed the same way. Men
like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Tertullian,
Lactantius, Eusebius, Ambrose...all adopted this
interpretation. In the words of the Ante-Nicene Fathers,
the angels fell "into impure love of virgins, and were
subjugated by the flesh...Of those lovers of virgins
therefore, were begotten those who are called giants.”
…We cannot deny the Jewish Fathers knowledge of their
own terminology! They invariably translated "sons of
God" as "angels." ” www.redicecreations.com
29. The Sons Of God = “Godly line”?
I also question how this “Godly line” had so few
Godly sons and daughters?
Only 8?
30. Angels
Seraphim, Cherubim, Man /Form
Col 1:16 For by him all things were created: things
in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;

2 Peter 2:4-6 For if God did not spare angels when
they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into
gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 5 if he did
not spare the ancient world when he brought the
flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a
preacher of righteousness, and seven others; NIV

38. Nephilim in Hebrew, Root naphal
OT:5303, nephiyl (nef-eel'); or nephil (nef-eel'); from
OT:5307; properly, a feller, i.e. a bully or tyrant:,
KJV - giant.
OT:5307, naphal (naw-fal'); a primitive root; to fall, in
a great variety of applications (intransitive or
causative, literal or figurative):
KJV - …(cause to, let, make, ready to) fall (away,
down, -en, -ing), fell (-ing), fugitive, have
[inheritance], inferior, be judged…
39. The Nephilim (Gigantes) in LXX
“When the Greek Septuagint was made, "Nephilim"
was translated as "gegenes." This word suggests
"giants" but actually it has little reference to size or
strength. "Gegenes" means "earth born." The same
term was used to describe the mythical "Titans" --
being partly of celestial and partly of terrestrial
origin... In some of the manuscripts it is left as "sons
of God," but in the others-- including the Alexandrian
text--it is rendered by the word "angelos." This text
was in existence in the time of Christ, but there is no
indication that He ever corrected or queried it. Can
we not assume from His silence that He agreed with
the translation!” www.redicecreations.com
40. And Also Afterward
Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those
days — and also afterward —
41. Num 13:27-33
Num 13:27-33 They gave Moses this account: "We went
into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with
milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who
live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and
very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. ….
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We
can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."
32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report
about the land they had explored. They said, "The land
we explored devours those living in it. All the people we
saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim
there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim).
We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we
looked the same to them."
42. And Also Afterward
The sons of God could have sinned again and that is
why God wiped out all the Canaanites.
Genesis 9:24 When Noah awoke from his wine, he
knew what his youngest son had done to him. 25 So
he said, "Cursed be Canaan…
Or, possibly, Noah’s daughter-in-laws carried a
genetic defect and were not “perfect in their
generations.”
I’m not so sure about the girls. It doesn’t say, “Noah
and his daughter-in-laws were perfect in their
generations.”
43. "Sons Of Seth"
“Perhaps the most conclusive argument for interpreting
the expression as "angels" is the simplest one of all. If
the writer of Genesis wanted to refer to the "sons of Seth"
he would have just said so. If God had intended that
meaning, then the verse would undoubtedly read, "the
sons of Seth saw the daughters of Cain that they were
fair..." But the Bible meant something far more sinister--
the sexual union between angels from Hell and evil
women from Earth. Because of the gravity of such a
union, and its dire consequences for the human race,
God moved to destroy the race before it could destroy
itself--except for one family which had not been
contaminated.

44. Gen 6:5-7
Gen 6:5-7 The Lord saw how great man's
wickedness on the earth had become, and that
every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil all the time. 6 The Lord was grieved that he
had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled
with pain.
This is the reason God gave for the flood, but many
scholars add the corruption of genes as a cause.
45. Gen 6:9-13
Gen 6:9 This is the account [toledot] of Noah….
46. Noah Was "Perfect In His Generation"
“Genesis 6:9 says that Noah was "perfect in his
generation." Does this mean moral and spiritual
perfection? Hardly. Genesis 9:20-23 disproves any
such perfection. What, then, does the Bible mean by
calling him "perfect"? The Hebrew word is "tamiym"
and comes from the root word "taman." This means
"without blemish" as in Exodus 12:5, 29:1, Leviticus
1:3. Just as the sacrificial lamb had to be without any
physical blemish, so Noah's perfection. In its primary
meaning, it refers not to any moral or spiritual quality,
but to physical purity. Noah was uncontaminated by
the alien invaders.”

47. Gen. 6:14, Kaphar
Genesis 6:14…an ark of gopher wood… cover it
inside and out with pitch.
OT:3722, kaphar (kaw-far'); a primitive root; to cover
(specifically with bitumen); figuratively, to expiate or
condone, to placate or cancel:
KJV - appease, make (an atonement, cleanse,
disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, purge
(away), put off, (make) reconcile (-liation).
48. The Angels In Heaven Don’t Marry
Mark 12:24-25 Jesus replied, "Are you not in error
because you do not know the Scriptures or the
power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will
neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be
like the angels in heaven.
Does this give us any info about fallen angels in
rebellion against God?
49. Angels Do Not Marry
Some interpret the words of Jesus as meaning that
angels do not marry among themselves. Is it because
they are all male? Or is it because celestial beings are
deathless and thus need no offspring. Only terrestrial
beings need to find immortality in their children. (17) But
if they do not need to marry and procreate, is it still
possible that they could engage in sexual acts? If not
among themselves then with human spouses? Jude
seems quite explicit on the matter: the angels left their
own habitation, and gave themselves over to fornication,
going after strange flesh. In other words, they were
capable of performing human functions--eating, drinking,
walking, talking, even sexual activity and fathering
children. www.redicecreations.com
50. Two Angels Arrived At Sodom
Gen 19:1-5 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the
evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the
city….4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men
from every part of the city of Sodom — both young
and old — surrounded the house. 5 They called to
Lot, "Where are the men [two angels] who came to
you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can
have sex with them."

“Some who oppose this interpretation offer
Matthew 22:30 and Mark 12:24 as evidence that
angels do not procreate -- with which we would
agree: elect angels do not procreate. Neither are
they given in marriage. Note that this teaching
also applies to glorified humans in heaven. But
before their arrival in heaven, humans are able to
procreate. Thus, the activities and restrictions
upon beings in their elect glorification in heaven,
need not apply to every possibility in other

most malevolently destructive and perverse

53. The Waters Of Noah + Re-gathering
Isa 54:5-10 For your Maker is your husband — the Lord Almighty is
his name — the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called
the God of all the earth. 6 The Lord will call you back as if you
were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit — a wife who married
young, only to be rejected," says your God. 7 "For a brief moment I
abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. 8
In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with
everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,“ says the Lord
your Redeemer. 9 "To me this is like the days of Noah, when I
swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.
So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you
again. 10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be

compassion on you.
54. Amos 3:7
Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing

prophets.
1 Thess 5:1-5 Now, brothers, about times and dates
we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very
well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in
the night. 3 While people are saying, "Peace and
safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as
labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not

Men Hi. I stumbled upon your site while researching the 7x70 in Leviticus 26:21, but that's not
why I'm writing. I don't know how you feel/or what you think about the 'sons of God' issue in
Genesis 6:1, and I couldn't find that out from your list of topics. As you know there are 2
[predominant] beliefs about who these 'sons of God' are. If you would be so kind, would you let me
know which belief you hold? [I hold the view that the text indicates that the 'sons of God' are fallen
angels] but I can't come to grips with the chromosome issue. Simple possession of human males
would not create the Nephilim described in the bible, so how is it that angels are able to produce
sperm? This is where my question lies. Either God, as part of His grand plan, would have had to
create them such; or Satan in some sort of distorted creative ability would had to have done it. As
far as the later concept is concerned, Satan, by his evil nature, did 'create' many things not in
existence prior, i.e. death, evil, sin, illness, etc., etc. Somehow this tainted fallen angelic seed was
able to join with human female eggs to create these creatures. Please respond back with your
thoughts on the chromosome issue, which is my stumbling block to what I believe the Bible
teaches. A79 : by Tony Garland As bizarre as it might seem, it is my belief that both the
language and context of Genesis 6, along with related passages (e.g., Jude) clearly indicate that
the phrase 'sons of God' there can only refer to angelic beings who were able to produce offspring
with 'daughters of men' which the passage implies were 'mighty men of old, men of renown' and
which are denoted 'giants' ('nephilim' from Hebrew NFL - 'fallen ones'). Some who oppose this
interpretation offer Matthew 22:30 and Mark 12:24 as evidence that angels do not procreate -- with

A team of scientists that includes Dr. Daniel Criswell of ICR has

presenting its work at this summer's International Conference on
Creationism. A mitochondrion is a cellular power plant that generates
most of the chemical energy the cell needs to support its functions.
Although most of a cell's DNA is contained in the nucleus, the

'strange flesh', Jude seems to make abundantly clear: And the [angels

(feminine plural)] and [gone after (feminine plural)] strange flesh, are set forth

Jude seems to be teaching that Sodom, Gomorrah and the related cities went
after strange flesh in a manner comparable to the angels who did not keep their
proper domain, but left their own abode and are now reserved for the judgment
of the great day. These particular angels must have performed some especially
heinous crime comparable to the homosexuality recorded of Sodom -- a profane
act which crosses sexual boundaries established by God's created order.
62. 2 Peter 3:3-7
2 Peter 3:3-7 First of all, you must understand that
in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and
following their own evil desires. 4 They will say,
"Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our
fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the
beginning of creation." 5 But they deliberately forget
that long ago by God's word the heavens existed
and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
6 By these waters also the world of that time was
deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the
present heavens and earth are reserved for fire,
being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of
ungodly men.
