This document describes a student project to develop a smart home automation system using Bluetooth. It includes sections that define home automation, list common home automation products, outline the objectives of remotely controlling home doors, lights, AC and a fire sensor/alarm, and provide block diagrams, flowcharts, components lists, schematics and details on the software design. The project aims to develop a remote home automation system using a PIC18F4550 microcontroller, various sensors and an Android application for remote control via Bluetooth. Some issues encountered included power supply problems, mobile app development challenges, and instability of the mobile app. The conclusion is that the project goal of developing a low-cost Bluetooth-enabled home automation system was successfully achieved.
