Colombia, South
America

In Colombia, Colonel Ricardo Prado
of the National Police has utilized The
Way to Happiness booklet for several
years in both training their entire
force and broadly distributing it to
Colombian citizens.

Under Colonel Prado’s leadership,
Colombian police have delivered
The Way to Happiness seminars to
hundreds of thousands of school
children and distributed booklets to
20 percent of the population.

changing crime statistics:
• 90% drop in the kidnapping rate
• over 50% drop in the murder rate
• over 40% drop in overall violent

was followed by significant drops in
crime rate. The overall homicide rate
dropped to its lowest in 22 years.

nationwide, but Colombian tourism
increased eight times more than that of

California
Emmy-award winning
actress Nancy Cartwright
is internationally known as the voice of
Bart Simpson on the Simpsons cartoon
series.
Through the nonprofit organization
she co-founded, “Happy House,”
Nancy sponsored the distribution of
one million copies of The Way to
Happiness to a high crime-rate
section of Greater Los Angeles.

Nancy says, “With vandalism, gang
fights, shootings and other crimes
committed daily in our own backyards,
it was clear that something needed to
be done about it.... We did some of our
own research and found out that the
areas of Chatsworth, Canoga Park and
Northridge are three of the most-highly
condensed areas of crime in the Valley..
We felt that this was a perfect region to
get out The Way to Happiness.”

Los Angeles,
California

The booklets were mailed into the
San Fernando Valley area of Los
Angeles (including Chatsworth,
Canoga Park and Northridge).
This area has a population of 1.76
million and one of highest crime
rates in Greater L.A.
Just months later after the mailing,
the Los Angeles Daily News reported
a 40% drop in the homicide rate
and the safest summer since 1967.

Middletown,
New York
Mount Vernon High School in
Middletown, NY, has had serious trouble
with violence and murders.
This is a school that averaged 1-2
murders per month in the area
surrounding and related to the school,
and 2-3 gang and other fights per day.

A local businessman decided he
wanted to do something about it and
he sponsored a The Way to Happiness
Youth Campaign in the school.

They held an all-school assembly
for 2,000 students and showed
them the 21 filmed Public Service
Announcements for The Way to
Happiness.
Each student got a copy of The Way to
Happiness booklet as well.

Then for the rest of the day they
delivered short seminars to teachers
and students on the concepts found in
the The Way to Happiness.

The immediate results were
that for two weeks following the
introductory session, there were
NO fights in the school and for two
months NO murders in the area.

Teachers there told The Way to
Happiness group that they are
welcome to come back any time.

United States

One of the most comprehensive
The Way to Happiness Campaigns is
getting The Way to Happiness DVD
(book on film) into every school
in the world.
Missouri was one of the first U.S. states to
complete this target, with two copies in
every school.

Missouri, United States

There are 2,000 schools in the state
of Missouri.
During the 2009-2010 school year,
84 schools reported a total of 516
violations (serious crimes committed
in the school that must be reported to
the police).

All 2,000 schools were then provided
with 2 copies of The Way to Happiness
DVD, one to the principal and one to
the head counselor.

By the end of the 2010-2011 school
year, the Department of Education
for the State of Missouri reported
that violations for the entire year had
dropped to 31 schools reporting a
total of 190 violations.
This was a 63% decrease in violations.

Pakistan

The police force in Karachi, Pakistan
was previously known to be widely
affected by corruption and its statistics
on reducing crime were abysmal.
A The Way to Happiness Group in Karachi,
Pakistan, decided to do something
about it. They trained thousands of the
police on The Way to Happiness.

The police officers began to apply the
principles of this booklet at once and
experienced tremendous efficiency and
performance while at the same time
observing a significant decrease in crime
in their area.

Winter Olympics

During the Winter Olympics in 2010,
The Way to Happiness Vancouver Team
distributed 75,000 booklets in the
streets of Vancouver around the
Olympic stadiums.

Vancouver Winter Olympics

“Mysteriously” the crime rate dropped
drastically. Here is what the Vancouver
newspaper, National Post had to report:

“The latest figures show property crime is
down nearly 40%; theft from vehicles is down
nearly 60% and violent crime is down 23%.
So what accounts for the trend? Sure, it
could be the 7,000 extra officers patrolling
the streets of the Olympic city. Or it could be
that the criminals are all at home, glued to
the television as they watch those wacky
Norwegians in their awesome curling pants.”

Drug War Zone

Juarez, Mexico has the highest
homicide rate of any city in the world.
Juarez borders El Paso, Texas in the
United States and is reportedly the
entrance point for 60% of the drug
traffic entering the US from Mexico.

A The Way to Happiness Group decided
to do something about it.
They approached a local TV station,
Channel 44, about promoting The Way
to Happiness on the air.
After seeing what The Way to Happiness
was all about, they decided to run a
campaign promoting it on the air daily.
Channel 44 began distributing the
booklets to viewers who called in to
the station.

With the overwhelming positive results
from the campaign, Channel 44 met
with the Juarez Water Company, who
decided to join in on the campaign.
500,000 The Way to Happiness booklets
were provided and they began
delivering the booklet along with the
monthly water bill.

It didn’t stop there, as The Way to
Happiness Group began delivering
seminars to key groups in the city:
• City police
• Teachers in 90 schools
• Staff & inmates of the state prisons
• Local businesses people
A total of 288 workshops and lectures
have been delivered to 639 people
with 56,140 books distributed at
these activities.

To date over 180,000 books have been
distributed in Juarez and as a result the
homicide rate has steadily declined.
Channel 44 reported a drop from 345
homicides in October 2010 to 180 in
March 2011.
