2. Introduction
In this presentation you will discover the top 10 swing dancing camps in the UK.
Please note that I do not have extensive knowledge or experience of all the camps
in the UK to make a proper judgement, therefore, this is only my personal opinion.
If your organised camp is not included in this list, chances are, I have not been
there before. To avoid this you can always invite me to try your camp out and
review it on my blog.
Furthermore to avoid any arguments regarding which camp is better than the
other, I will list all the camps in alphabetical order. I did not include one-day
festivals or exchanges, only proper swing dance camps.
Without further ado, let’s begin!
3. 600 Minutes of Swing
A weekend in the beautiful St Andrews with
2 days of great socials and 3 nights of parties.
When: April, every year.
Location: St. Andrews, Fife, United Kingdom
Experience: I have not been here before but I
hope to come and have a blast in 2016!

up, 2 days and 3 nights of parties. Sunday is

5. DJam
What’s better than dancing your socks off in
cold winter month? Nothing! Djam is great
camp packed with 3 days of classes and 4
nights of social dancing with top
international teachers line-up.
When: January, every year
Location: Durham, Durham, United Kingdom
Experience: I went there with a bunch of
friends in 2014. It was my first camp and I
truly enjoyed the classes and dancing. This is
what hooked me up with dance camps and
such!

6. Goodnight Sweetheart
An amazing weekend in Hertfordshire with
great teachers and amazing socials for
Valentine’s day.
When: February, each year
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire, UK
Experience: I went to GNSH in 2015 and I
had a fabulous time. I learned quite a lot but
this camp is not as big as it used to be mainly
due to location change (from Hertford to
Watford). I enjoyed it nevertheless.

7. Hullzapoppin’
Very relaxing but at the same time quite
intense weekend in Hull. Lovely and friendly
community that welcomes everybody, this is
a must before summer camps!
When: May, every year
Location: Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, UK
Experience: I went there in 2014 when they
were based in the massive Endsleigh Mercy
centre – I would get outside during launch
break to chill. Great classes and socials, truly
amazing weekend.

8. London Swing Festival
One of the largest European camps in the
capital of England – London. Top
international teachers with great and
intensive classes followed by social dancing
to live bands. Need I say more?
When: May, every year
Location: London, United Kingdom
Experience: I went in 2014 and 2015. In the
latter year I went only for social dancing
which was great. I wish I had taken classes
also. They were impressive I heard!

my 4th big event and I had a real blast. They
had some international teachers and I
learned a lot of Charleston and lindy hop
stuff. I had real blast dancing with such an
awesome and friendly community in South
of England.

13. Thank you for viewing
As mentioned earlier, this is personal opinion of mine. I also listed this
in alphabetical order to avoid arguments like “No, this camp is better
than that camp” and so on.
