Awareness Awkwardness Automatic “It takes 21 days on the average to develop a habit” The 3 A’s of Exchanging a Habit:
A Boss drives people A Leaders inspires them A Boss depends on authority A leader depends on goodwill A Boss evokes fear A Leader radiates love A Boss Says “I” A Leader says “We” A Boss shows who is wrong A Leader shows what is wrong A Boss knows how it is done A Leader knows how to do it A Boss demands respect A Leader commands respect The Difference Between A Boss and A Leader?
Definition of Management “Management” “the art of conducting, directing”, (“to lead  by the hand”) characterizes the process of leading and  directing all or part of an organization, often a business, through the deployment and manipulation of resources (human, financial, material, intellectual or intangible). …en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Management
Developing a Management Mindset Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. Determine how they affect your work habits. Learn to schedule your time. Learn to set priorities. Analyze your communication effectiveness.			 Test your skill in making decisions. Always be proactive. Measure your performance objectivity. Move from “task” thinking to “performance” thinking.
Keys to Effective Leadership Develop a work climate that encourages trust, candor and open communication. Adopt belief that best motivation is self-motivation (in the proper climate and leadership, employees will become productive). Involve employees in problem-solving and improvement-planning. Listening to employees and seeing merit in their needs. Setting clear goals and organizational objectives.
Keys to Effective Leadership, continued Rearranging jobs to allow for a greater degree of responsibility and self direction. Recognize that conflicts between the needs of individuals and organizations are inevitable, openly confront.  Use mistakes as a learning opportunity. Have high expectations of others while providing them support and encouragement in attaining objectives. Provide recognition for superior performance.
