Today we are going to talk about Liposuction. Dr. Mark Prysi performs a superior type of
Liposuction called Ultrasonic Liposuction. This method simulates skin tightening and allows
for more complete removal. Which is beneficial in beauty for all patients, and especially in
fat removal for patients over the age of forty.
Permanent Fat Areas in Men and Women
There are certain areas of the body that resist the effects of diet and exercise. In a woman,
its the abdomen, hips, and inner and outer thighs. In men, its usually the abdomen and love
handle area.
Traditional Liposuction
With liposuction we make small incisions, very inconspicuous. Often in the lower buttocks
crease, or in the belly button, or the abdomen. Typically each incision is only about a
centimeter wide.
Ultrasonic Liposuction
With ultrasonic energy, we can perform a specific type of liposuction. Here, the skin is at the
top, the muscle at the bottom, and the fat in between is removed gently by ultrasonic energy
which liquifies the fat and also stimulates the epidermis of the skin (the underlying skin) and
helps it shrink down.
With this process you can remove much more fat, and you experience a lot less blood loss,
and it stimulates skin tightening at the same time, which allows for much better definition.
In a particular patient of Dr. Prysi’s, her concern was her inner and outer thighs. Her abdomen
was flat, but this is a different type of fat cell. It is called brown fat, most often saved from
pregnancy. Even in your 20s, however, you can have a disproportionate amount.

2. In this case, Dr. Mark Prysi did just the inner and outer thigh liposuction which reveals
excellent definition in the legs and hips, accentuated by the inner and outer thighs, and also
their skin smoothness.
In the case of a gentleman patient, Dr. Prysi took 5 liters off his abdomen, and only with the
ultrasonic energy would he have been able to get skin tightening the way it did.
Recovery Time
The recovery time of ultrasonic liposuction is usually quick, lasting around 3 to 4 days, and
after a week you can return to work and most of your normal activities.
