2. SUNY Broome and Veteran Affairs
• SUNY Broome is approved by the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) as a training facility for
veterans and other eligible students. They
currently coordinate services for more than 110
veterans who are attending classes and
receiving veteran's benefits, tutorial assistance,
referrals for counseling for financial, vocational
and academic problems, veterans work study job
information and important information about
resources available to them at the college.

• Financial aid at SUNY Broome falls into three categories
1. Grants that do not have to be repaid
2. Loans on which interest rates are usually low and that
must be repaid after graduation or leaving college
3. Part-time employment called Work Study

The newly opened veterans resource center is located in the student services
building. This veterans resource center allows a safe and supportive
environment for veteran students.
• Meet with peer advisors
• Socialize with others
• Veterans can navigate there education benefits here
