2. Proverbs 15:10 Correction
is grievous unto him that
forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall
die.
When a Christian strays from the Path of
Righteousness, God immediately corrects
him, gently at first.
If he will not return to the Path, the correction
becomes reproof with increasing intensity.
If he will not heed, his life becomes
unbearable, and eventually death is his punishment.

3. Psalm 32:3-5 (TLB) 3 There was a time when I
wouldn’t admit what a sinner I was. But my
dishonesty made me miserable and filled my days
with frustration. 4 All day and all night Your Hand
was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like
water on a sunny day 5 until I finally admitted all
my sins to You and stopped trying to hide them. I
said to myself, "I will confess them to the Lord."
And You forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

4. A conscience is like an invisible fence. The fence is
buried around a yard to protect your dog from harm.
The dog has a collar with a receiver in it to receive
signals from the fence.
As the dog nears the fence a beeping sound begins.
The closer he gets, the louder the sound. If he gets too
close he receives a mild electric shock, and the closer
he gets the stronger the shock.
That is how our conscience works as we near the
forbidden. The Holy Spirit pricks our conscience and
warns us. Unfortunately, if we ignore those
prickings, we may no longer feel them. Our
conscience becomes calloused, and we get in trouble.

5. It is foolish to be that hard-headed and stubborn.
Hear and heed the gentle persuasion of the Lord.
God is patiently calling sinners to repentance.
But there is an end to His patience.

6. Leviticus 26 14 "'But if you will not listen to Me
and carry out all these Commands, 15 and if you
reject My Decrees and abhor (hate) My Laws and
fail to carry out all My Commands and so violate
My Covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will
bring upon you sudden terror, wasting diseases and
fever that will destroy your sight and drain away
your life. You will plant seed in vain, because your
enemies will eat it. 17 I will set My Face against
you so that you will be defeated by your enemies;
those who hate you will rule over you, and you will
flee even when no one is pursuing you. NIV

7. 18 "'If
after all this you will not listen to Me, I will
punish you for your sins seven times over. 19 I will
break down your stubborn pride and make the sky
above you like iron and the ground beneath you
like bronze. 20 Your strength will be spent in
vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor
will the trees of the land yield their fruit. 21 "'If you
remain hostile toward Me and refuse to listen to
Me, I will multiply your afflictions seven times
over, as your sins deserve. (NIV)
Only stubborn pride will make us refuse to admit
when we are wrong – refuse to repent.

9. Hear and heed the gentle persuasion of
the Lord, when He first speaks to you.
Those who will not shall
suffer
chastisement, even unto
death.

10. 11 Hell
and destruction are before the LORD: how
much more then the hearts of the children of men?
If God sees the dead –
even in hell,
He certainly sees the
hearts of the living.

11. This does not mean that God is watching with a
vengeful eye to lash out at everyone
who slips and fails.
Don’t get weary in welldoing; Keep on keeping on.
God only punishes the stubbornly
rebellious, who will not respond to His gentle

12. 12 A scorner
loveth not one that reproveth him:
neither will he go unto the wise.
A scorner makes fun of the Truth and of those
who hold that Truth -- that sin is destructive,.
He goes his own way, doing as he will, and
thinks it will bring happiness and peace.
If he ever learns at all, he will
only learn from hard experience.
12
13. Proverbs 18:1 (TLB) The selfish man quarrels
against every sound principle of conduct by
demanding his own way.
We each make our own choices.
We choose to live life our own
way, or we choose to live life God’s
Way.
Our own way produces troubles.
Proverbs 1: 29
God’s Way brings blessing.
