 It is a word that replaces a noun or another 
pronoun. 
1.Personal Pronouns 
2.Demonstrative Pronouns

7.Intensive Pronouns
PERSONAL PRONOUNS 
Singular Pronouns Plural Pronouns 
First Person I, me, my, mine We, us, our, ours 
Second Person You, your, yours You, your, yours 
Third Person He, him, his 
She, her, hers 
It, its 
They, them, their, 
theirs
1. This must be stopped immediately. 
2. That is the dress I want to wear to the party. 
3. The buyer wanted three of those. 
4. Did you say bought these at the department store?
The interrogative pronouns are: 
who whom which what 
The compounds formed with the suffix: 
ever (whoever whomever whichever whatever)
The highlighted word in each of the following 
sentences is an interrogative pronoun: 
1. Which of you wants to read the book first? 
2. Who repaired the leaking faucet? 
3. To whom do you wish to give the basket? 
4. What did she say to you?
- is a pronoun referring to an identifiable but not definite 
person, place, thing, or idea. 
The most common indefinite pronouns are : 
all another any anybody 
anyone anything each everybody

nobody none several some 
somebody someone
 Many students have to commute to school 
everyday. 
 Mona’s bedroom had been searched and 
everything was on the floor 
 We gave away all the coins we had to the poor 
yesterday 
 I have looked in every class but found none 
of the students you called for.
RELATIVE PRONOUN 
- a relative pronoun is used at the beginning 
of a subordinate clause to link one phrase or 
clause to another phrase or clause. 
The relative pronouns are: 
who whom that which 
The compounds: 
whoever whomever whichever
 You may call on whomever you like. 
 The students who tops the exams is given a medal. 
 Whoever used the glass will have to wash it. 
 The old car which was parked there has been towed 
away.
- YOU CAN USE A REFLEXIVE PRONOUN TO REFER BACK TO THE 
SUBJECT OF THE CLAUSE, OR SENTENCE OR DIRECT THE ACTION BACK TO 
THE SUBJECT. 
In each of the following sentences, the word is a 
reflexive pronoun. 
 I gave a gift yesterday for doing well in my plumbing 
class. 
 Felicia promised to distribute the old clothes but we ended up 
doing it . 
 Our instructor checks each test paper . 
 Kim enjoyed at the movies.
The words in the following sentences 
are intensive pronouns: 
 I am convinced he behaved badly during the 
prices would go down. 
 The workers admitted they could not 
finish the project on time.
