understanding about the Organization of American
States (OAS), Inter-American Development Bank
(IDB), US Agencies, and the Diplomatic Community.
Training is customized based on participants’ needs
and capabilities, and participants are equipped with
an action plan which can be implemented upon
return to their home communities.

Experiencing International, State and Federal
Agencies, and Congressional Offices
give participants the opportunity to compare access and policy making processes,
institutions, and governments, between countries and communities.

The Smithsonian Institution offers a
unique opportunity
to further explore real world science and mathematics through
visits to the National History, Air and Space, US Agricultural
Laboratories, and other key educational resources.

Strengthening English language is also an important
benefit of the program. All activities are in English with
some reinforcement in Spanish as needed.
