ENISA is organising, in collaboration with DG CONNECT,
the Annual Privacy Forum (APF ‗12). The aim is to
establish an annual forum to address gaps between the
advances made by research in the area of privacy, and the
relevant policy initiatives.
The Annual Privacy Forum 2012 — closing the loop from
research to policy takes place on 10th and 11th October in
Limassol, in Cyprus and is officially endorsed as one of the
events of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
A ‖Call for papers‖ was published, and 19 papers were
accepted.
The Programme Committee, chaired by Bart Preneel- KU
Leuven - was composed of 34 world-recognised experts.

expresses his expectations from APF’12
―One of the main objectives ENISA is to promote the exchange
of good practice and collaboration on NIS issues. The Annual
Privacy Forum offers an opportunity to facilitate a dialogue
between the research community, industry and Europe‘s
policymakers. Shared understanding in this area is crucial –
privacy is a fundamental human right.
I would like to thank the European Commission‘s Directorate
General Communication Networks, Content and Technology for
its support in organising APF‘2012, and also acknowledge the
kind support of the University of Cyprus, and the Cyprus
