  1. Implement and collect data on written work plans that include: strategies, activities and timelines based on the Indicator #8 data.   Collaborate with RSN Directors to provide information and technical assistance to districts and CESAs regarding family engagement Indicator 8 and specifically Q. 25.
  2. An agenda for the IEP team meeting, provided to all participants including parents, has been shown to significantly decrease misunderstanding, improve communication and reduce the potential for conflict.
  3. Giving the parent a one-page format to prepare information for sharing at the IEP team meeting invites participation and clarifies expectations.
  4. Having a second one-page format for parents to use for taking notes at IEP team meetings helps the parent focus on important areas of the IEP that the team will discuss.
  5. Put it all into a Parent Record File to show parents that you want to help them be equal team members.
