7. Educational technology is the
study and ethical practice of
facilitating learning and
improving performance by
creating, using and managing
appropriate technological
processes and resources.
8. Educational Technology aims
to improve education.
Technology should facilitate
learning processes and increase
performance of the
educational system(s) as it
regards to effectiveness.
9. Educational technology is that
is a systematic, integrative
process for designing instruction
or training used to improve
performance.(Encyclopedia of
educational Technology)
12. Technology is a blessing for man.
With technology, there is a lot that
we can do which we could not do
then.
13. However, when not used
properly, technology becomes a
detriment to learning and
development. It can destroy
relationships.
14. It depends on how we use
technology. if we use it to help
our students and teachers
become caring, relating, thinking,
reflecting, and analyzing and
feeling beings, then it is a boon, a
blessing.
15. But if we use abuse and misuse it
and so contribute to our ruin and
downfall and those of other
persons, it becomes a bane or a
curse.
16. Almost every technology has a
bright and dark side to it, its
positive and negative
repercussions. We were deeply
involved in the communication
process.
20. "A plan that emphasizes the parts
may pay the cost of failing to
consider the whole, and a plain
that emphasizes the whole must
pay the cost of failing get down to
the real depth with respect to the
parts."
– C. West Churchman
21. The systematic approach to
teaching provides a method
for the functional organization
and development of
instruction.
22. This method applies to
preparation of materials for
classroom use, as well as for
print and non-print media.
23. It is an orchestrated learning
pattern with all parts
harmoniously integrated in to the
whole: the school, the teacher, the
students, the objectives, the
media, the materials, and
assessment tools and procedures.
24. With the instructional objectives
in mind, the teacher implements
planned instructions with the use
of the selective teaching method,
learning activities, and learning
materials with the help of other
personnel whose role has been
defined by the teacher.
25.
26. A group of cognitive
psychologists, curriculum
theorists and instructional
researchers, and testing and
assessment specialists
published in 2001 a revision of
Bloom’s Taxonomy with the
title A Taxonomy for
Teaching, Learning, and
Assessment.
27. The authors of the revised
taxonomy underscore this
dynamism, using verbs
and gerunds to label their
categories and
subcategories (rather than
the nouns of the original
taxonomy).
36. Meaningful Learning
In the learning process, the
learner is encouraged to
recognize relevant experiences. A
reward structure is set so that
the learner will have both
interest and confidence.
37. Discovery Learning
This is differentiated from
reception(meeting point of
meaningful and discovery
learning) in which ideas are
presented to students in a well-
organized way, such as through
detailed set of instructions to
complete an experiment.
38. Generative Learning
We have active listeners
who attend to learning events
and generate meaning from this
experience and draw inferences
thereby creating a personal
model of explanation to the new
experience in the context of
existing knowledge.
39. Constructivism
Is basically a theory-based on
observations and scientific study
about how people learn. It says
that people construct their own
understanding and knowledge of
the world, through experiencing
thing and reflecting on those
experiences.
42. Dale’s Cone of Experience is a
visual model that is composed of
eleven (11) stages starting from
concrete experiences at the
bottom of the cone then it
becomes more and more
abstract as it reach the peak of
the cone.
43. Also, according to Dale, the
arrangement in the cone is not
based on its difficulty but rather
based on abstraction and on the
number of senses involved. The
experiences in each stages can be
mixed and are interrelated that
fosters more meaningful
learning.
45. Roles of Education
Technology in Learning
• Traditional Way
As delivery vehicles for
instructional lessons.
Technology serves as a
source and presenter of
knowledge.
Assumes that knowledge is
embedded in the
technology and it presents
that knowledge to a
student
• Constructivist Way
As partner in the learning
process
It engage learner in active,
constructive, intentional,
authentic, and cooperative
learning.
Provides opportunity for
technology and learner
interaction for meaningful
learning.
47. Roles of Technology
Technology as tools to
support knowledge
construction.
Technology as information
vehicles for exploring
knowledge to support
learning-by-constructing.
48. Educational Technology 2 is
concerned with integrating
technology in teaching and
learning. Specifically this is focused
on introducing, reinforcing,
supplementing and extending the
knowledge and skills to learners so
that they can become exemplary
users of educational technology.
52. Educational Technology 2 is all about integrating
technology in teaching. This course is very useful especially
to those future mentor like us. As we start growing in this
kind of generation, it is hard to say if who will become us in
the near future. But we cannot deny the fact that we have
learned a lot on this subject. We have been developing our
knowledge and enhancing our skills in terms of using
technology. We can be an effective teacher if we possibly
applied all the learning we have learned in a proper and
useful way so that we can sustain the interest of our pupils
to the lessons. For us, with the help of this subject, we can
teach the students effectively using technology wherein the
new technologies exist nowadays.
