This document provides instructions for students to create a function comparison matrix for educational tools. Students will be assigned to groups based on the category of tools and cannot talk, instead having to communicate digitally. Each group needs an editor and must determine a communication plan. They will create a wiki page with a matrix comparing the basic features of their assigned tools and recommend the best one(s), justifying their choice. Finally, groups will present their recommendations and submit a post on their teacher website with the matrix, educational value, and practical issues.
2. TIP #8: CREATE A FUNCTION COMPARISON
MATRIX
Logistics:
• You will be responsible for creating a function comparison matrix
(refer to Slide 19) for the category of tools you were assigned
• You will do this with the other people who have been assigned
tools in the same category
• At the bottom of the table, make a recommendation of the best
tool(s). Justify your choice
• We will work on a Class Wiki that will be available on a public

4. TIP #8: CREATE A FUNCTION COMPARISON
MATRIX
• NOTE: only one person can edit your group’s wiki page at a
time
• Your group needs an editor
• CONDITION: You cannot talk at all. The only way you can
communicate throughout this activity is through some digital
tool. Decide on this together.
• Plan how you wish to discuss to get the matrix completed in
about 15-20 min.
