Keynote at Percona Live 2014
Peter Zaitsev, Percona Llc. CEO
Percona Llc. shared their corporate presentations’ theme and a link to their annual event (http://www.percona.com/live/conferences). At this precise event their CEO, Peter Zaitsev, was to give the very first opening Keynote.
After two Skype calls with Peter we had a draft of a short story of how he got interested in MySQL – the platform that he has build his successful company around.
This story helped achieve the primary goal of this Keynote – encourage the conference participants to interact more and to share their knowledge with new acquaintances.
In his presentation Peter also thanks the conference organizers, speakers and sponsors, he mentions the main topics that are to be discussed in the next few days of the conference.
Hi everyone, this is the … time that I’m happy to introduce a MySQL related conference. I want to share a story that I never shared with an audience before: About the way I came to use MySQL and, consequentially, why I started to organize events for this community.I was starting to work on my first startup SpyLOG - Web Site Statistics similar to Google Analytics, back in 1999.I was yet a 3rd year student at Moscow State University and I knew little about databases beyond theoretical Relational Algebra course and bits of SQL (pic from studies / spylog?)
