Tropical rainforests are dense forests found near the equator that receive a high amount of rainfall each year. They have warm and wet climates and contain a diverse array of plant and animal species living in a complex web of interactions. Tropical rainforests are home to over half of the world's plant and animal species despite covering only 6% of the Earth's land.
