1. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Parkers is a wholesale fashion agency, based in London, responsible for the sales and
marketing of ten ladieswear brands in the UK and Ireland.
Miss Emily Wiley was an intern at this firm for just over three months between
September – November 2011
Within our fashion agency, the daily activities that Miss Wiley carried out for us were
as follows:
• Answering the telephone.
• Dealing with general correspondence.
• Checking off invoices against orders.
• Checking off orders against confirmations.
• Dealing with orders.
• Arranging collections upon their arrival from the manufacturer.
• Helping with our sample sale that we have twice a year, meeting and greeting
members of the general public, assisting with any questions asked.
• Listing all samples for the sale creating databases to monitor sales.
• Created sample sale invitation.
• Created individual brand invitations for emailing to retailers.
• General office duties i.e. filing, sorting of post, hospitality for meetings,
implemented filing systems, copy typing.
Miss Wiley was an extremely pleasant and hard working individual who contributed
in a considerable way to the daily workings of this business. She was self-motivated
and approached every task in an organised, methodical and most thorough way.
Moreover she “fitted in” from the very beginning and became part of our team from
the very outset. No task was avoided or rejected, despite her position being as an
unpaid work-experience trainee and it was most refreshing to encounter a young lady
whose approach to life was so balanced, polite and accommodating. All in all, she
proved to be an honest, trustworthy and hardworking member of our team.
