It can be assumed that it takes some time to realise the need for an Intranet manager

COMPANIES THAT HAVE USABILITY SPECIALIST Under 1,000 employees Intranet age: 6+ years 40% 60% IT companies 40% Only 11% of companies have a usability specialist despite the fact that a key priority of Intranet development is usability (62%, look at «Development priorities» section, page 50) The presence of a usability specialist is more common for IT companies with less than 1,000 employees and the experience of Intranet use of more than 6 years. There is always a usability specialist among IT company's staff who can easily be engaged in Intranet project. In small companies they pay greater attention to details than in bigger ones
