Towards Smarter Grid NDMC
Overview of NDMC  Introduction New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was established by  the New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994. With responsibility over an area of 42.74 square kilometres, NDMC is smallest among the three local bodies in National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT);  Municipal Corporation of Delhi (1397.3 sq.km.) and Delhi Cantonment Board (43 sq. km) being the other two.   The NDMC area comprises the territory that has been described as Lutyen‟s Delhi and has historically come to be regarded as the seat of central authority in the Union of India.  This area includes the seat of the Central Government, RashtrapatiBhavan, the Prime Minister’s office and residence, Central Government offices, Foreign Missions, residences of Ministers, Members of Parliament, Diplomats and Central Government employees.  The Government of India is nearly the sole landowner and owns about 80 per cent of the buildings in the NDMC area. Private ownership of property in this area is marginal. In view of this unique setup, the area under NDMC has special characteristics, vulnerabilities, and requirements from security point of view.
NDMC Vision NDMC resolves to intensify its efforts in providing better civic services to the citizens and a multitude of visiting patrons from all over the country and overseas. Otherobjectives before NDMC are to improve quality of life provide social and communitywelfare amenities with public, private participation- with special emphasis onpromotion of art & culture, environmental improvement, cleaning & greeningcampaigns to serve as a show window of "A Model Well-Planned Metropolitan City".

Mobile Work Force Management System System Strengthening and Automation SCADA implementation Construction, augmentation and renovation of 66 and 33 kV substations
Energy Conservation and Efficiency NDMC is implementing energy conservation and efficiency measures throughout its distribution area with focus on the following. 1. Energy efficient LED lighting fixtures for public lighting systems 2. Installation of solar water-heating systems at NDMC buildings, hospitals, and flats 3. Promotion of usage of energy-efficient appliances among NDMC consumers
