Not only are business processes altered, but more business users and fewer technical personnel are involved in day-to-day content management operations. University Web Group (Uweb) http://uweb.fiu.edu/ University Web Group (Uweb) is an organization open to all professionals who use the web as part of their role with Florida International University and are interested in helping others. People are encouraged to join regardless of their web knowledge or the amount of their job that is committed to working with the web. Uweb seeks to create a collaborative web community for FIU, to exchange ideas, resources and best practices. We also seek to provide development in the form of online assistance and seminars. Support for these changes will be provided in the form of feedback, analytics, testing, and peer site reviews to be conducted by the web communications team.

We seek to get users to their destination as quickly as possible without getting in their way. A great number of web sites impose their organizational structure on the user. Using the org chart as your site navigation is not sufficient. Users visit your site with a certain need to be fulfilled and most can’t find what they need because they don’t know our internal language. (IE acronyms and internal department names).
