Emily Ashford conducted research through an online survey to learn about attitudes toward vegetarianism. She received responses from 60 people, of which 2 identified as vegetarians. The survey found that most respondents were male, between 13-18 years old, and cooked or had their mother cook meals. While most eat meat, 12 said they would consider becoming vegetarian for reasons like dieting or not knowing what's in their meat. The 2 vegetarians were females between 13-18 years old. The research aims to help tailor recipe cards toward a target audience that may be more receptive to vegetarian meals.
2. Summary of research
• and I also went out and asked people and the
people I interviewed were all vegetarians.
Their were about 4/5 people within my
interview resource.
3. Purpose of Research
• The purpose of the survey and the audience research was to see
how many people are vegetarians and how many people would
consider it so we have more of an idea of who are recipe cards
would go to and get a better idea of what audience I’m dealing
with.
• What I would like to get out of this is an idea of the audience that
the recipe cards would be better for, in my case, it’d be more for
female as they are the ones who have answered my question air as
being a vegetarian.
• The way this could influence my project is after I find out my
audience I could have had a better idea at who my target market is
and the a reason to create a theme. For example a lot of people
said they would consider being a vegetarian as part of a diet or for
dieting so I could have a training themed recipe card for motivation
and with a vegetarian meal.
4. How I conducted research
• The main methods I used in survey monkey to
collect my answers and with that I used a lot
of yes and no answers and paragraph boxes
for people to type out their own answers.
• The way people filled them in is I sent the like
to the survey page all over social net working
sites and had my friends help me out by
letting me interview them with their opinions
on meat and why they are vegetarians.
5. Question 1 – are you a vegetarian?
• I had about 60 people
do my survey and out
of those 60, 2 of them
are vegetarians leaving
96.67% are people who
eat meat.
• I also asked why and
my answers were
pretty much “I like
meat to much”
6. Question 2 – are you male or female?
• 57.63% were males
who answered my
survey and 42.37% of
them were females
how ever the 2
vegetarians were
females. My results
show that females may
be more likely to
vegetarians rather than
males.
7. Question 3 – what age group do you fit
in?
• 71.67% of the people who
answered my question air
were between the age
group of 13-18. this shows
that my audience may be
more in that age group and
with 21.67% being 19-25.
this will help me out by
giving me more of an idea
of how old my audience
will be. The two
vegetarians from my survey
are both in the age group
of 13-18.
8. Question 4 – who does most of the
cooking in your house?
• A lot of the answers
here were saying
either that mum’s
cook or that they
cook them self.
9. Question 5 -If you eat meat, would you
ever consider becoming a vegetarian?
• However out of the
60, 12 said they would
consider becoming a
vegetarian for reason
such as dieting, the
out break of horse
meat and not knowing
what is in your meats
and just for a change.
10. Question 6 – what is your favourite
dish?
• However a lot of
people’s favourite
meals did involve a
lot of meats like
Sunday
roasts, Lasagne and
Bacon.
11. Question 7 – if you are a
vegetarian, why did you become one?
