What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?

Camera and tripods
The pictures above show the camera and tripod we used for our filming
day. Both of these worked very well together as we were able to
achieve all of the different shots we wanted. For the areas where we
wanted it to look slightly shaky we just used the camera in our hand
without the tripod to give this effect. However for the majority of the
filming we used the tripod to get steady footage with a clear picture.
Both of these products were very straight forwards to use which made
the filming day much easier for us, they are both very lightweight also
so they are also to transport around. For some of our shots we used a
gorilla pod which was very useful to us as it is able to hold on to
different bits of furniture to achieve different shots such as a birds eye
view. Below you can see this:

Light reflector; exterior use
 When we were filming our footage outside we used a silver
light reflector for us to get the brightest and clearest picture we
could. In films light reflectors are used to bounce, diffuse, or
flag natural and artificial light. This means that when we edit
this we can dim the brightness but still have that clear footage
which isn't pixelated. It is also very good for when doing close
ups and extreme clos ups as it captures all of the facial
features.

Mahara is a soft wear located on Reigate portal which is the most
useful soft wear we have used during this process. Mahara is where
we write on our blogs and get assessed on our work which is on there.
Mahara is very straight forwards to use and lets you present your work
in various words through the use of embedding videos and different
photos. It also lets you get creative with your writing by changing the
font, size and color. All of our planning our screenshots and ideas all
went onto our blogs to provide us with a guideline through the
process.

IMac computer ( apple )
 The apple mac computers were very helpful during this entire
process as it would let us upload all of our footage onto the
computer by placing our SD card into the back of the mac. The
mac also includes various programs for us to edit and make
things for our video including sound. Overall I thought the macs
were very easy to work with as I have one at home so I was
already familiar with the computer itself. But they are very
reliable and it is easy to access all of your documents with your
work in it.

YouTube played a big part throughout this process. We uploaded all
of our videos to YouTube including our film openings and our
productions and our animation film. It was always very quick when
uploading the video and was very simple to use which was a bonus.
Previously when uploading our final video we had to add annotations
to the video on YouTube which was very quick and easy to use.
YouTube was also helpful with delivering our feedback as we were
able to look at the comments classmates had left in able to improve
on our video.

Garage band
Garage band is a program on apple macs. This was useful for us to
make certain sounds, however this program was very challenging to
use in my opinion due to the various settings and buttons on the
program. Although it did give many sound options it was hard when it
came to editing the sound to how u wanted it. However after more use
of this program I think I will soon become more familiar with it.

Final cut pro
Final cut pro is another program on mac and was the main feature
through this process. This was the main feature for editing our video,
we had to upload our footage from the camera to the mac computer
and then download it to final cut pro. At the start we did have some
complications with uploading the footage but we soon sorted our the
problem. Final cut pro was very easy to use and I also enjoyed using
the soft wear as you could experiment with different sounds and
effects. It helped us achieve the lighting sound and effects we desired
due to the endless amount of effects. As our opening was continuity
editing it also helped us have a seamless video and show the match
on action we filmed.
