3. To improve means to pull pranks on the public. The goal is to give them a positive
experience to make them laugh and to have a story to tell later. In this improve
several men entered a bus in their underwear and the female finds it very
entertaining.
4. Charlie Todd connects very well with his audience with good body language, eye contact,
and motioning with his body and hands to keep the audience hooked.
5. Charlie Todd demonstrated TED Commandment 1 by expressing his dream of making a
group of uncomfortable, tired, and depressed people smile and to have a good day. And to
make is improve comedy give everyone a fun positive experience.
6. Charlie Todd was also very successful with the 4th TED Commandment. He made his audience
constantly laugh.
7. In this improve Charlie Todd talks about inspiration. He explains that he gets his inspiration
from the things he sees out in public. He saw a girl dancing in the window so it inspired him
to gather 70 people to do synchronized actions in this building.
8. Compared to Sir Ken Robinson, I believe Ken did an amazing job connecting to his audience
better than Charlie Todd did. Ken had better eye contact and he put emotion in his words
and his body language.
9. But Charlie did have the same moral of his presentation that Sir Ken Robinson did. As adults
we lose our creativity but when we were kids it was ok. But we were formed to be “normal”
growing up in schools by our teachers like what Sir Ken Robinson stated in his “Schools Kill
Creativity.”
10. We have the right to express ourselves and we cant let our creativity go.
11. I believe Sir Robinsons presentation “School Kills Creativity” is spot on and Charlie Todd was
one of the few who didn’t let school kill his creativity.
12. The difference in delivery
between the two is that
Charlie gave you a image
with narration…
As with Sir Ken Robinson, he
told you a story and gave you a
mental picture. He got the
audience to think and have a
“ah-ha” moment like I did.
13. 4/5
Although Charlie Todd had great eye contact and body language, I feel he could have noted
his purpose earlier and maybe done more than just video clips of his improve. Nonetheless
I found it very entertaining and he has a good goal to keep the creativity alive.
14. There is never to much time
on your hands. Spend your
time how you like.
15. Charlie Todd’s video clips were on topic and delivered with passion. Go out
there and be creative everyone. Spend your time how you want to and don’t
be afraid. Make a positive difference.
