3. 1 TIMELINE DESIGN
This design allows visitors to
scroll through the entire
page’s history and past
activities, making it easier to
find past comments, posts,
and milestones.

4. 2 DOUBLE PHOTO POWER (COVER PHOTO + PROFILE PHOTO)
Cover photo
Your cover photos must be no
bigger than 850 pixels wide
and 315 pixels high. They
must not contain any
promotion, coupon, or ad, nor
can they be exclusively text.
This immediately limits you
with respect to marketing.
The new dimensions for the
profile photo are 180 x 180
pixels.

5. 3 TABS
Tabs have gone from 520 to 810 pixels wide—a huge increase in real estate!
Landing pages are a thing of the past.
Menu
Tabs are now displayed as thumbnail images—four of which are always on display and
eight (and not a single one more) of which are displayed in a drop-down menu.
All apps require a thumbnail image (111 × 74 pixels).
You can also customize the order in which your apps are displayed.
6. 4 PERSONALIZE YOUR POSTS
Star: Highlights a post by
expanding it to widescreen.
7. 4 PERSONALIZE YOUR POSTS
Pin: Anchors a post to the top
of your page for seven days.
A flag at the top right-hand corner of the
post bookmarks it.
8. 4 PERSONALIZE YOUR POSTS
Hide: Conceals content you
don’t want to appear on your
Timeline, such as long lists of
posts regarding an event or
negative posts. This is a nice
alternative to deleting a post
altogether and a way to
respond to and interact with
disgruntled fans without
letting their words tarnish
your page.
9. 5 MILESTONES
You can use this feature to go
back in time and feature key
events that tell your brand’s
story from the beginning to
present day.
10. 6 FRIEND ACTIVITY
You can opt to display friend
activity and recent posts by
others on your page.
11. 7 SOME INSIGHTS ARE PUBLIC
Every month, an Activity box
on your fan page publically
displays the number of
people talking about your
page, the number of visits,
and the number of people
who “like” your page.
12. 8 A STRAIGHT-FORWARD ADMIN PANEL
The admin panel includes a list
of the people who most recently
“liked” your page, a graph with
the page’s different statistics
(Insights section), and the
messages sent to your page.
Fans can communicate with you
privately using the Messages
button, and you can reply in the
same manner.
You also have the option of
moderating posts before they
are displayed, which comes in
handy in the event of a crisis.
