2.  History has to do with the thought and
action of men and women who lived in the past.
 Historian works in the past; he explores the
past in order to find out what men and women
did and though of the past.
 His business is to discover and set forth the
facts of history.

In December
1897, Aguinaldo
and 25 other
revolutionary
leaders went on
voluntary exile
in Hong Kong.

symbol, is a generalization of many
simple facts and this generalization itself
cannot be use apart from the wider facts
and generalizations which it symbolizes.
What he can deal with directly is a
statement about the event, a statement
which affirms that the fact that the event
